Turok: Im going to preface this by saying I have no animosity toward you and would like to continue and intelligent and insult free discussion if you are willing......You just proved my original point from about 25 pages ago.....My point was simply that we accept certain things like gravity and all the theories that go with it...yet when it comes to God we require a different burden of proof....Regarding your test of gravity: it will all be effects of gravity...no matter how many tests you conduct, it will all be speculation and conclusions about gravitational pull because you cannot see it......However In my prayer example you quickly found a way to discount it.....and I would dgo so far as to say that no matter what the other control was in the non-prayer room, you still would not accept that prayer to god has healing powers correct??????? Even thought scientific studies are showing that prayer helps heal the mind and body.....most will now say that it is just the power of the mind not God who is responsible......so i ask, why is it that other aspects of science get a free ride??
ART: >Oh yea, the kind of reality you get from >pass out drinking. ROFLAO It probably takes some GnR as well. JB
Don't you cry tonight I still love you Don't you cry tonight Don't you cry tonight There's a heaven above you baby And don't you cry tonight Give me a whisper And give me a sigh Give me a kiss before you tell me goodbye Don't you take it so hard now And please don't take it so bad I'll still be thinking of you And the times we had ... baby
Long nose ...ur reality will be life itself...once you leave the chicken coup....and by the looks of it..it will hit you solid smack in the face like a peterbilt truck....
Whoa whoa whoa Sweet child o' mine Where do we go Where do we go now Where do we go Sweet child o' mine .. Ohh ohh ohh Sweet child o'mine Ohh where do we go. :-/
Just out of curiousity, how do you see god hiding when you perform tests? Is it not a logical possibility that God put in place all the physical laws of the universe, which allowed for us to be having this conversation in the first place? Why does God have to prove his existance for you? Just because science is not the proper tool to view God doesn't mean that, by lack of a formal proof, we must automatically reject his existance.
TM: >Turok: Im going to preface this by saying I have >no animosity toward you Certainly the same here. >and would like to continue and intelligent and >insult free discussion if you are willing. The intelligent part is up to you. A: No more attributing statements to me that I did not make. B: No more attributing statements to others that they did not make. C: Taking responsibility for YOUR OWN statements rather than to blame them on others. D: Only expect an answer when one has been asked. If you can't be honest then the insults are deserved. >You just proved my original point from about 25 pages ago. >My point was simply that we accept certain things like gravity >and all the theories that go with it...yet when it comes to God >we require a different burden of proof. You assertion that I proved your point is yet another hollow and false assertion that you can't back up. I specifically said that I DON'T require a different burden of proof and offered to be involved in tests that would apply the SAME burden of proof. So, how exactly did I prove your point? TM: >Regarding your test of gravity: it will all >be effects of gravity... Yes, and I have openly stated in this thread that the "effects" of god's existence would be plenty for me, just as the effects of gravity are plenty for me. Again as stated by me, these "effects" need only *remotely* approach the repeatability and predictability of gravity. >However In my prayer example you quickly found a >way to discount it... I only discounted the involvement of moon gravity. If you wish to use the gravity of the moon as a base line for curing cancer then we'll have to set that test up as well because I have never asserted it's effectiveness. >and I would go so far as to say that no matter what >the other control was in the non-prayer room, you still >would not accept that prayer to god has healing >powers correct??????? And there you go assuming again. Incorrect. >so i ask, why is it that other aspects of >science get a free ride?? They don't in my world. Let's set up the test. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=433583#post433583 JB
if you need to place god as the creator, of "intelligent design" then you MUST be willing to answer to this Q: What placed God??! afterall, what is an example of a more perfect design, than god??
