Do you think it a good idea to initiate any long postions at this point? Tomorrow could see massive profit taking due to Qtr end and long weekend.
what happened to your thoughts that "risk of retrace to downside is higher than upside." No disrespect, and I don't like to pick on or criticize people I do not know... but your postings are essentially worthless... other than they report the news of what happened that day and some price levels. So from that point of view it has some residual value what you post as it has given me some equities to consider as good trading stocks. IF you think about it... trading is about what could happen and the expectancy or probabilities that something occurs based upon a number of factors and the analysis thereof; reporting the news as you are doing, is about what already happened. I would like to know if you have a single position in any of the indexes or equities that you post about. best of luck.
why do you say "massive" profit taking instead of "some" profit taking. What is it that leads you to believe there will be massive profit taking? As I posted recently on another thread "Thoughts about RIM", JULY is historically the biggest upside month of the year. Thus I think there will be "a sell off" tomorrow (or profit taking) as traders don't want to take home positions over long weekend. "Massive" I do not see. Comments?
Maybe "massive" is a bit too much, but as you said people would like to take profits after the hard May and most of June. Also the window dressing effect will be off. The long weekend is self explanatory with all the possible geo political events that could go down during that time. So the sell off could be strong with those three factors combined.
here is what I think happens... the markets GAP higher tomorrow morning... then reverse and close lower. However it won't be a key reversal; just, as you note, a selloff in front of a long Holiday weekend. let's see if I am right OR if the markets gap lower from the jump.
