strike on iraq

  1. hey libs, the only thing pointless is your opposition to getting rid of a dictator. Face up to it and move on. Maybe you can put this thread to rest and debate something that hasn't been decided yet, the Iraq thing is done.

The President , the House, and the Senate, all have decided it is ok to attack Iraq. Lots of dems in congress had to go along with it, your elected officials. GET OVER IT !

At the risk of calling myself a "lib", where does this imply that I (or any right thinking American) is opposed to getting rid of a dictator? How is it that you are able to make this issue into something it is not?

What is the definition of a "conservative"? What does the word mean? I always thought it meant a belief in leaving things as they are. Being opposed to change. So if you wish to use labels, then a "conservative" should want things not to change. A "conservative" would conserve the way things are. Not try and change things for better or worse. Hence, Iraq would be left to it's dictator, and we would be isolationists.

Of course I realise this is a dumb argument. But I make it to point out that labels are just dumb. What on earth makes you believe a "lib" would want to see a murderous maniac in charge of a nuclear arsenal? Or is it just a way to slander anyone who does not agree with your "conservative" point of view. Whatever that really means? You embarass yourself with statements like you have made here.

  4. The tone set by several posters seems to be from the mantra of the extreme left and I doubt the label is meant to generalize all liberals.

Max, what would you consider an example of an "extreme left" position from the posts here? Just curious if you don't mind. I don't mean a cut and paste long drawn out thing. I mean a concise example of the "mantra" to which you refer.

Thanks, if you can help me understand exactly what you mean.

  6. Well. in the pure sense of the phrase, it was probably an extreme (pun intended) choice for a label, although I can picture VVV as Premier of the Formerly Free World.

 You lost me Max. You think VVV is a communist, I guess. But what did he say to make you think that (if that is indeed what you are implying....I am definitely a bit confused).

    Thanks

  8. Do you really believe I am stating that VVV's intent is to take over the free world, turn it into communist regime and place himself at the head?

    1. If not, then you "got" my tongue & cheek humor, apparently attempted in vain.

    2. If yes, see 1. above.

No, I get your (tongue in cheek) meaning about VVV. I was just asking what specifically is it he said that makes you think he is "extreme left". (I got that part right, yes?)
The cut and paste stuff aside. I can't really wade through all that.

  10. I retracted that label:

"Well, in the pure sense of the phrase, it was probably an extreme* choice for a label . . . "

    *pun intended

What part of the political spectrum do you see him as? Or perhaps he is simply a nut case.

"The cut and paste stuff aside. I can't really wade through all that."

Why not? He has reposted the exact same cut & paste about 20 times.:)
