>When the US (and Canada - NATO) unilaterally attacked >Yugoslavia to stop Milosovic, without the backing of the UN, was >that international terrorism? Exactly : terrorism. As much as I love the US, I have to say that these bombing are an infamy... Terrorism is an unofficial war waged without a declaration, and on civilian populations. The US never declared war at this time. The US bombed civilians. OHLC
I told you 1 billion time that I never said the US are evil... Candle is more american than you and yet he is not blind like you are.... that does not mean that he thinks the US are evil... but if you read the previous text... you will see that when in it is the US interest then law is enforced but when it is not (Israel) all the laws can be breached... What can you say of that???? Apparently you have not answered on that point or may be you don't want to belive that yes there are corrupt politicians and yes they are not doing what should be done which means enforce international law and justice... Concerning Yougoslavia... all the european countries agreed on an attack it was not a unilaterla attack and yet it took time to attack because there was no OIL... in the case of Irak this country knew the biggest ever attack on a single country and yet koweit was a country of 600,000 inhabitants and a dictatorship... Whereas in Bosnia there was a genocide .... the international community should have intervened much much earlier and they waited waited waited.... BUT if you don't understand that... you are certainly too blind... It is too obvious that even a child of 7 years old would understand it...
OHLC, somehow I don't think you would be saying that if you were one of the thousands that were saved from concentration camps as a result of the removal of Milosovic from power by the US bombing. But hey, to each his own! If you think stoping a genocidal maniac is terrorism then we have different definitions of terrorism. If I see a thug attacking and old lady and I go over and stop him, I suppose you would throw me in jail and charge me with aggravated assault and battery? (sheesh) --------------------------- TF2000, You're right, the attacks were not backed by the UN. They were initiated, planned and carried out by NATO unilaterally. Thanks for supporting what I've been saying.
Babak, My comments are not a pro or anti US opinion. It is just a statement that INNOCENT people lost their lives. They lost their lives to people that did not attack openly (the US never declared war). So, with your emotional comments, you are suggesting that it was justified to kill these INNOCENTS in order to save other people that policital correctness makes you feel more worthy to live. You decide some lives are worth more than others, is this different from Milosevic's thinking ? >> If I see a thug attacking and old lady and I go over and stop him, I suppose you would throw me in jail and charge me with aggravated assault and battery? >> If you get the thug's address and go to his place to kill his wife and kids, yes, I would arrest you. OHLC
http://web.amnesty.org/web/web.nsf/pages/iot_home The experiences of these people I met during my visit to Israel and the Occupied Territories last week show: Nothing justifies the targeting of civilians, the destruction of lives and livelihoods, the gross abuses of human rights and humanitarian law, whether in Haifa or Hebron, Jenin or Jerusalem. While the political debate rages about the security of Israel and the liberation of Palestine, the reality is that on both sides ordinary people are paying a heavy price for the escalating violence. Every day children are being maimed, lives are being destroyed with impunity. There are many Palestinians who are angry and want revenge. But there are also Palestinians, including people I met in Jerusalem and Gaza, who condemn the killing of Israeli civilians. There are many Israelis who are afraid for their lives and see a military response as the only solution, but there are also those who think differently. One man, whose teenage daughter, Smadar, had been killed in a suicide bombing in September 1997, said to me: "I could have made my grief a tool for hatred, but I decided to make it a platform for change." Ariel Sharon, Yasser Arafat and George Bush must listen to the calls of the victims, and put respect for human rights and humanitarian law at the centre of political negotiations. OHLC, you are twisting what I've said and what the US did. First, the US (NATO) did not attack civilians. It attacked the Milosovic machinery of evil. Unfortunately some innocent lives were lost. That is the hard and sad fact of war (bombs don't recognize innocence). Contrary to what you imply, NATO was not targeting innocent civilians. They were targeting Milosovic's military. I simply don't understand what you are saying. Are you stating that since innocent lives may be lost we should not enter into war at all under any conditions? I'm just trying to understand you. Next, the analogy that I used was me going over and stopping a thug beating up an old lady. You twisted this to me going to his house and beating or killing his family. I never said that. I don't really understand why you did this (twist my words and put words in my mouth)
TF2000, this is the umpteenth time that you have insulted me. I have not said anything to you about this until now (while others have). Please refrain from personal insults (that is the policy of the board). Thank you.
More of that dastardley evil Zionist propaganda: http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/meast/09/22/israel.bombing.donor.ap/
children and that is the sadest thing... and saying to somebody he is stupid is not an insult especially when he does everyhting to prove it and that makes me say stupid things such as evil america.... If you want to believe the "myth" Arab hates teh US don't do it with me... I am the wrong man... And if you were honest you would never say that... So the deal is if you keep on making me say what I never ever said then i will continue to call you stupid.. if you remain objective I have no interest in calling you stupid or brainwashed... Is that ok And if that hurts you I am sorry... I just don't like being treated as an anti american since I am not..
