I feel bad for a lot of phones that are going to be lost or damaged in December due to boating accidents I hope for the owners' sake that the phones are old and not that expensive
The posted clip does not match what you wrote. But it is nevertheless simply amazing to see how easy it is to use BTC. But I will say that for the majority of people, using a credit card is superior. It is just as fast, you get to earn points, and the CC company will refund any purchases that aren't mine. For my general transactions, I really don't want it to be final. I want the ability to dispute a charge and do chargebacks. Now if the store offered me a 2% discount for my purchase by paying in crypto, then this is certainly tipping the scales, but I believe there are some rules about charging different prices for different payment methods. This of course all applies to people who have access to a credit card. In many parts of the world, this system will be of a huge benefit for those who don't have access to a credit card. I can also see holders of huge amounts of crypto wanting to use it in order to spend some of their wealth, but this is a small case example I believe.
Sorry, I was making a bad joke. Lightning Network Bitcoin (Layer 2 network) transactions are very difficult to trace and imho many bitcoiners who utilize this payment won't bother reporting the transactions as it's too much trouble I think Chainalysis announced that they're working on a solution for LN, but they are probably interested in big players who might try to use LN to avoid sanctions or to commit criminal transactions, but because of the structure (design) of the Lightning Network which is for micro transactions (small $ values), it's not really optimal for those bad guys Without getting too deep into the weeds, I have a getumbrel node at home that has been running for many months and the initial setup required setting up channels, so I selected peers like in El Salvador, big payment processor Coinpayment and other countries and this required for me to deposit btc amounts for each channel, which are the limits that can be sent over each respective channel So all of that is to say that even though I have not made a single LN transaction, my node has been helping the Lightning Network by routing payments So to get back to the video, Strike is acting as the LN-to-USD platform conversion processor so the merchants receive US $ into their bank accounts, but anyone who uses a non-custodial wallet to perform the transaction will be completely anonymous to Strike or the merchant Credit card is better for the consumer if there are issues with the products, but LN is great for the merchants, no high processing fees and no chargebacks For its part, Strike I believe is charging small fees to the merchants and earn their profits through a spread What's the upside for the Bitcoiners? Speaking for myself, ease of use and novelty I usually carry a few thousand $ worth of btc and LN btc on my phone so i can see this as very convenient but at the same time, I use Google Pay a lot and that's extremely easy I cannot see this LN would offer any advantage whatsoever
