it's the dogs bollox, nothing out there compares. For what it provides, it's reasonably priced but the average retail trader is probably going to use less than 5% of what bloomberg offers
To me it seems that it is not so important how much you can use of what Bloomberg offers, but if they can deliver what you need - the major news first, before all other also trade on them, so you can get in before the big moves starts.
If all you're looking for is to get the news before anyone ... then bb is prob not worth the money, but if you work in a bank and see what kinda stuff bloomberg provides you can see why all the banks have bloomberg. Money well spent imo. Gettin the news first is one thing ... being able to act on it properly is entirely different
I use MedVed QuoteTracker's RSS feature. http://www.medved.net/quotetracker/ I use RSS feeds from Moreover and ForexTV. http://www.forextv.com http://www.moreover.com Select For Individuals |Free RSS Feeds. In addition to this, I've added RSS feeds off Google, Yahoo, and the WSJ (subscription) since I like reading regular news.
Anyone here using this service to get heads up info for economic news releases, or ECB activity for trading currencies during news releases? http://www.tradethenews.com/products-audio-news.php Also, how good is this service in the overnight when the EU markets are active? Thanks
Tradethenews have a one week trial. You get the news a couple of seconds too late so you miss the knee jerk response. Still possible to wait for a 30-50% retracement over a minute or two before entering a trade. I prefer RANSquawk. Seems a little quicker and better organised. They just read out the Bloomberg, Reuters etc headlines as they come in but there's still going to be a delay.
