Why was Canada and Mexico squirming before Saturday about the tariffs not yet enacted if it was going to be US consumers that pay? What difference should it matter to Canada? See what I mean.

It has now become a battle of pride and arrogance. Over two requests that neither Canada nor Mexico was willing to cooperate with. So now we are in the age of tariffs.

In the long run it will be a good thing for all three countries as free trade will be dismantled. Hopefully. In the short run Canada and Mexico will suffer the most and that is why they were squirming and bucking and hand wringing. They know who will pay the steepest price.

What was nonsense was that the US was going to be the one to pay the price!

Canada will really squirm when we hit Alberta's oil.

    Drill baby drill!

    All over two requests.

Remember we Americans are arrogant. And we don't like to lose. It ain't in our DNA.

Any good gambler knows when to fold. Canada and Mexico best fold before the betting turns really really bad.

You just come off as extremely ignorant on this topic. Like Trump who said don't you dare retaliate and we did IMMEDIATELY as we should. Now what big guy go ahead bump the Oil to 25% like you promised and watch Oil prices go up.

Exactly. Pride cometh before the fall. Canada's pride and Mexico's pride. Two requests from USA. DENIED. Now pay the price buckaroos. There were two requests both could implement them but refused. Ever wonder why? It wasn't about bullying. It was about cooperating with us on two things. But they both bristled up like a porcupine so now the trade war is on.

Seriously we've seen this behavior from S2007S before like spamming the board with market is going to crash posts yet also bragging about his retirement funds going up. You can't have it both ways. Asking for big tariffs is like saying to a lunatic with a gun come on now if you are going to get it out of the holster at least fire the thing. Like an American lunatic might :).

We have an answer for oil. It is called "drill baby drill". Two simple requests DENIED stamped by Canada and Mexico. There is always a price to pay for wrong decisions.

Who is going to pay the brunt of Canada's tariffs. Please answer that.

Same with the U.S. and their pride.

No country is immune from the Icarus effect of flying too close to the sun.
