  1. The problem is, you dont know what socialism is, its a Con talking point. I know you are going to bring healthcare as the socialist example next, so do checkout what the Top Most Conservative ThinkTank thought about reforming healthcare, it even had a public option! - http://www.heritage.org/Research/Re...Credits-to-Create-an-Affordable-Health-System

  2. Well, end of the day, those trillion dollar wars and unfunded 700 billion Medicare overhaul have to be paid somehow, the fiscal irresponsibility of the previous administration doesn't leave too many options to continue all tax cuts.

Well, check this out: "Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources."

Remind you of anyone? Tax and spend while, in the process, Government grows out of bounds and gobbles up industry after industry? Labor unions calling the shots? Redistribution of wealth? :(

  4. I agree with you that Bush was a profligate spender and fiscally irresponsible. In 8 years he never did figure out what "veto" means. That said, raising taxes in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the 1930s will make things worse, not better.

Why can't we just pay for it through reduced federal spending?

  6. can we all at least agree next time to have a war tax,,a buck a gallon tax on fuel would have raised a 100 bil,,if we all agree we need to go to war,,then at least lets pay for it instead of giving china a much needed boost to there economy with the bush tax cuts

Just stopping the pork-laden earmarks would take us a long way there.

  9. Nope, wars and massive entitlement programs written by corporate shills comes Free, no costs attached. In fact you never even put them on the budget, you let the incoming President do that and then claim its his fault for the trillion dollar spending increase.

  10. America needs waaaayyyy more than to merely "preserve the Bush tax rates"... if we want to put our unemployed back to work.

American needs to "embrace Capitalism".... (1) a tax and regulatory policy which would ATTRACT CAPITAL.. incentivise foreign companies to do business in America and employ our workers, and (2) get people to be responsible for themselves rather than sit on their fat asses in front of their government subsidized big-screen TV watching Oprah, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars... powered by government subsidized utility bill payments, sitting on their government subsidized couch, in their government subsidized housing, scarfing their favorite government subsidized (via food stamps) snack.

Think there is any chance of that? :(
