Credit cards are a complete scam. I had a First USA card back in the late 90's are was late 2 times in a twelve month period. Both times I was 1 day late. I called them and changed the due date to the 7th of the month and was never late again. The result of my being late twice by one day? They gave me a rate of 29.99%!! According to them the only option was to pay it off and close it or transfer the balance to another card.
These idiots could not look at the situation for what it was and recognize that the late payments were a fluke. They instead held fast that I was a high risk even though I had the card for years! I finally saved enough to pay it off and gave them one more chance to lower the rate before I closed the account and they wouldn't do it. I have always paid my bills but do not feel one bit sorry for these credit card companies and they deserve whatever they get. I didn't even mention the late charges for being 1 day late. They deliberately put the due date where most people will be late by a day or two imo.

  2. The judges can read it all between the lines, I have 'em in the family, lots of attorneys too, they have interesting stories to tell..

You're kind of a moron anyhow... lots of dumb people are really moralistic about everybody else, remember the Howard Stern TV show where he had the panel of retards... they always wanted to hang everybody that was "bad"....

This is all making me think about my moral position here.... I didn't plan a thing, I got out of work.... no felony there... I hated the job, they knew it, we had meetings and I agreed to let them "lay me off" in exchange for not going public with things and severance, it was all very muchly not stated that way but everybody at the table knew where everybody else was coming from... so I got out of there with a wallet full of green and government benefits... maybe some people here are simply against government benefits, who knows where they are really coming from... I ran out the unemployment, then ran out the automatic extension then ran out the Bush extensions, and now I'm in the Obama extensions that will go through the end of this year... five months beyond that I'm good to go with full SSI retirement bennies... my timing was good, to say the least... I have to apply for jobs every week to keep up the unemployment so I click a resume through to employers from Monster.com... not a single call in two years.. not that I want anything but a good position with a very few really good employers.. I've done my due diligence, I know what I want.. so the resume's are sent without cover letters unless I really want the job... is that guile.. or am I just saving a lot of employers the trouble of really checking me out since most want their ass kissed with a cover letter... I meet the minimum legal requirements for the unemployment.....

I can't pay the original people [that rate jacked me for various reasons anyhow], but I could pay the Meth heads that do collections... I could be doing that anytime... but the thing is that making a payment puts a mark on your record that lasts for another few years... not paying them doesn't put anything new on the record... so, now sidle up to the computer, listen closely..... drum roll.. paying them makes my situation worse, not paying them makes it better over time... assuming they never get my real address... I'm at an age where having credit means nothing to me at all, I want to do my garden, walk the dogs... buying stuff, screw it, if I can't pay cash I don't need it.... so, my best choice is to not pay, and try to avoid detection... and to not pay any attention to what anybody says unless it's factual because urban myths guide most people when it comes to such matters... I've exposed a few here, the main ones really...

So.... can anybody yet, at all, think of one thing that I cannot do without a credit card or with bad credit?? I've ruled out getting a job because I got an interview recently with one of those very excellent employers and they don't give a rat's ass about credit history, well maybe if I owed a tremendous amount and was making the minimums only.. they are badly in need of my very specialized skills... end of discussion for that.... can't rent a car... I rent cars, no problem... can't buy a house, no credit is better for lots of loans, assuming you have a down payment... can't travel, horseshit, I've been all over, cash is good everywhere, Visa Debit cards are good... I don't have one and I can't change banks but that has nothing to do with my credit...

Gee, I'm just not feeling restricted here!! Maybe people worry too much about their credit ratings, life is not about banking shit, not for me at least..

Edit: we ruled out can't trade... I can't open a bank account but I can get a trading one.. the biggest block there would be BK, BK is not where I want to go with this situation of mine at all... also if one has skills one can get paid for a system at C2... I doubt that this namecalling shit head will ever do that...

I just can't think of a restriction on me other than I just can't ever write down my address... I almost entered a contest in the Mall here the other day.. then it hit me, these f$$$ers aren't probably going to give away the prizes at all, and more likely they will be selling the info they collect.. it was close... internet retailers so far have not made anything available to collections guys, probably the collections guys have a bad reputation for not paying or something... I had one calling me at my job once, he was trying to track down my neighbor who had split for far places... the collector was a real psycho, he would start talking like an american then he would get real shitty with me in a mexican accent... so I started to wonder, all the trouble this assclown is going to, what's it really worth to him? I told him I wasn't talking and he kept interrupting me at work.. so I told him to get over to my office with $50 and would make a little exchange... he blew up at me on the phone and started telling me I was the problem !! We had a little talk in Spanish after that and I never heard from him again...

Allow me to edit your post:

You don't like it, then don't go to the casino. By the same logic, if you don't like the way credit card companies run their businesses, then don't use credit cards. Yes credit card companies are looking to exploit their customers, but at the end of the day the customer is responsible. You're not a victim of the credit card companies, you're a victim of yourself.

You know the simple solution to this. Don't be 1 day late. The due date is set, it is the same every month. It is not a moving target that is eluding you from paying. So instead of blaming the CC company, why don't you just pay the bill earlier instead of waiting for the last moment to send it.

  5. The bottom line here is,that in a civilised society, which we all prefer to live in,most people will go along with what seems reasonable and fair. The problem arises when your perception of what is fair differs to the powers that be. Everyone has a line in the sand that it would be inadvisable to cross .My line maybe a hair trigger whereas someone else is willing to be assfucked before they react.Point is,all those with the holier than thou attitude and the need to call others, who they know nothing about, losers, because of a difference of opinion- don't kid yourself that you wont draw the line somewhere and act exactly the same as the op...or are you saying for example that you would be prepared to pay 90% TAX? Would you fight a war you didn't believe in? Would you inflict electric shocks on someone cos a man in a white coat running an experiment told you?-it's been done, probably by people who always paid their credit card bills on time. The Nazis were only following orders,as were the b52 crew who dropped the bomb on civilians. Apparently, none of these people had their line crossed here. I bet spanish,me and some of the others here fall into the camp of those who would refuse. Sorry, but actually these are the people i side with. Like i said earlier this is Not about winning or losing,it's about morals- you cannot dictate to anybody what their morals should be. That includes government and credit card companies and people you dont know over the internet.
One definition of a man is that he will stand up for himself and act (rightly or wrongly) in a way that is true to himself and regardless of what others think. By the same token,he must accept the consequences of his actions.
The powers that be must laugh their heads off when they see us arguing over crumbs while they routinely do exactly the same thing on a monumental scale right in your face while sending you the bill and telling you how you should behave. If you got good credit it's because it suits you,for your benefit, don't kid yourself you're doing it for my sake (society) or that it makes you a better person than the op.

  6. If enough Americans default on their CC's then uhmmmm the banks and CC Co's would go out of business and guess what...... we would actually have to pay CASH for what we wish to purchase:eek:

    Quote from Anaconda:

It should be pretty obvious that in this country, it's quite acceptable & sometimes "a smart business move" to screw the creditors in order to get ahead.

Sounds like something straight from the Trump school of business.

As someone who has had two ventures fail (tahnkfully more that have succeeded), receivership would have saved me over $150K. Trouble was that I entered in to those contracts with other struggling small businessmen like myself who had families and were trying to make it in this world. Do unto others ...

  8. People never cease to amaze how ignorant they are. Granted, CC companies do everything in their power to make as much as possible and I certainly don’t agree with their methods. But the real issue is personal responsibility. No one forces you to smoke, drink, eat fast food or use a credit card. But if you do, that was your choice, and your responsibility. What many will do to justify their poor moral compass and entitlement mentality you would think might bother an adult but not these days. Everyone else is doing it so it is ok if I do as well is what they tell themselves. But at the end of the day, deep down, you know what you a really are so I don’t have to repeat it.

Traders in general usually have a higher standard of personal responsibility than most. That is IF they are actually successful traders. This thread is just another example of how little trader, i.e. elite trader, is a just a hangout for wannabes of all types and sizes. Because if you can’t take responsibility for your day-to-day life, you certainly won’t take it in your trading. Blaming everyone and everything but yourself for why you didn’t make it trading or in the real world is the easy thing to do. Some things never change. Not much more that can be said to those who are too far-gone to care about.

I am just happy to add more of the ignorant to my ignore list. As Alec Baldwin says “A loser is a loser.” Enough said.

Good trading or should I say wannabe trading.

  9. LOL... real traders are on a high moral plane....

I'm still waiting for someone to produce a list, no matter how short, of things I can't do because I have bad credit and no credit card... other than never divulging my current address [or telephone, they can reverse lookup that thing], I have not found a single fricking thing...

  10. I owed 2300.00 on my visa. I pretended I slipped on the front step of the bank and made sure I hit my head on the door on the way down. As I negotiated with the bank manager blood was dribbling down the side of my head. We settled for the balance owing.

    Works every time.
