Being a relatively new trader I am learning the hard way that I can't rely on my discretion to manage mental stop orders.

With Interactive Brokers if I place a Stop Market order on Best_ECN for a Nasdaq stock, does the order become a market order when the last price for the best ECN hits my stop price -or- is the stop activated based on the print for the entire market(ie. BEST or NASDAQ) because best_ecn is not the entire market?

    Thanks for the help..

not sure about that, just trade the most liquid stocks, so there is almost always an ECN at or around the inside.

well, then maybe you should learn some discipline. don't rely on tech to get you out of jams of your own making. work on your emotions or you will never succeed. if you are not pulling the trigger when you really know you should you have the problem. period. not the tech.
