Stop Order Not Honored

Discussion in 'Interactive Brokers' started by asaladaaa, Nov 24, 2020.

  1. I am not talking about price slippage, the stop market order just didn't trigger at all and need to close it manually using limit order, the server thinks it is a short sell on a SSR(short sale restriction) stock

  3. OCA orders, and you won't have this issue.

  4. Was it in 2014 when someone shorted a penny stock at $1.89 right before Martin Shrekli inflated it to $20 in AH. Poor guy had turned a $30,000 account into -$150,000 because E*TRADE did not stop him out. His GoFundMe failed too, look it up on Zero Hedge. I was long it because a biotech expert thought the small float and cash value exceeded $5.

  5. Then it has nothing to do with the buy order. Your stop loss order is the issue then. Did you submit a stop limit sell or stop sell order?

  7. Nonsense. A stop order should ALWAYS get filled if the stop level is triggered. A stop limit is a different story.

  9. That is what i think, it is outrageous to not honor the stop market order, this happen many times today.

Last week also had problem with Stop limit order, the customer service said will send me message to my account message center, but no reply till now, too much problem with IB now.

  10. And the stop was definitely triggered? Then if both your buy size and stop order size is identical and IF you were filled the same size than your buy order you should never be net short. Contact IB customer service and inquire about it. Here on this site you only get stupid responses from people who don't even want to understand your scenario. Go to the broker and get a definitive answer. This website is for fun and giggles not to resolve trade execution issues.
