Stockwatch with motivwave

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by antares66, Jun 4, 2019.

  1. Hello,
has someone experience with this combination? Would there be an advantage using stockwatch`s datafeed instead of IBs?

    Thanks

Stockwatch would be an inexpensive option. IB does impose limits as to how fast you can get data and the number of active tickers you have access to. Stockwatch is just a data feed, so if you do want to trade through the charts, you would still need a broker. IB covers data and brokerage.
We do support many other data feed options.

  3. Does stockwatch offer second charts? I know IB does so, but no historical second charts like esignal.

MotiveWave doesn't have tick data support through the StockWatch API, so you would not be able to get second charts using StockWatch.
In MotiveWave, if you have access to tick data (are using a supported broker or data service provider that has tick data), then you'll have access to second charts.
IB does have historical tick data, so you will be able to see historical second charts with IB in MotiveWave, but it will be very slow to load that data from IB.
