Yeah, it is closer to 67%. I guess the resource I found just listed the major stockholders...I just added them up. What do you think......in a declining market.......do you think that companies with a large percentage of institutional ownership will do better or worse in a declining market? Will the institutions hold their investments longer than individuals and retain stability and share price? Or do you think that they will get antsy and dump .5% or 1% of the stock in a few days?
I don't think that number is important. A stock will still tumble with daytraders and with big instituitions it takes a while to liquidate all that stock when they do they plunge the stock further so why even bother at all... Most likely they'll just absorb the bad news unless it's something huge.
