    From Nov 11th :

    I missed the best TOG move, but I have been in ERF and MEG to some degree throughout. Despite dropped 4-5% each Friday, ERF is up 57.8% and MEG up 54.1% since this post.

    Currently I prefer nat gas and green energy ( QST ) short term but Oil is at an inflection point could do anything from here. Most of the nat gas firms are threatening much higher levels with any NG price follow through. Oil weakness could trigger a sell off in the pure Oil plays because they've run up a long way very quickly. I reduced a very heavy weighting in Oil related plays late week added some new nat gas exposure. Less liquid stocks were sold so I can react next week quickly. I think the nat gas plays have less short term risk; NG area sometimes even runs counter to broader markets and Oil price.

    Update on how well some of these stocks did since October 30, 2020 :

    mid caps : BTE 0.40 -> 2.45 +412%, MEG 2.43 -> 9 +270%, BIR 1.90 -> 5.31 +189%
    juniors : ATH 0.12 -> 0.98 +717%, CR 0.42 -> 2.24 +433%

    ERF and some others also did really well; TOG got taken over along the way. I'm still playing most of these until WTI loses momentum or hits $80. Then I'll reassess. I suppose just owning energy would have been crazy good but also crazy risky.

    The one area of poor performance was green energy including junior QST. It made a tremendous rally around election time from roughly $1.70 ( got as low at $1.30 earlier ) up to $3.60, then retraced the whole move on no earnings / sector weakness. I recently rebought it at $1.70 because it looked like selling was exhausted, and it's back up to $2 since. QST was being recommended by analysts as a buy at $5 before the pandemic hit. Basic thesis seems sound you'd think with Biden in power there will be more business coming as producers resume full operations. Speculative though.
