The difference is you are selling the content in your example. Nothing in the article is being sold here, and the poster profited nothing by posting it.
It is legal to copy/paste <em>excerpts</em>. "Stating the source" has no bearing. "Not profiting" is a factor, but not decisive. Even schools and libraries are constrained. But don't take my word for it... http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html
