That's because they are playing against the best. If you and I sat down with $10,000 of chips in front of us, and three pro's across the table each with $10K... Mick, we'd be the first out.
Yes trading is gambling but not investing. Investing is not a zero sum gain like short-term trading. Certain types of trading is less gambling than other types. The IBD stuff falls into the category of high percentage trading. I think buying breakouts & 52 week and all time highs is less gambling as well. If you bought NVDA AMD LLY SMCI when they broke their all time time highs you would be doing pretty well.
How is that different from trading? In theory you can have all the insider sources in the world but in practice? What if some Chinese investor decides to buy a large chunk, what if the product they sell causes deaths and it's only known to a few people. In practice it's no different from luck.
Imo everything to do with speculating on markets is gambling, even investing. Plenty of poor investors. Plenty of shady companies, bs artist directors, conniving accountants, bs artist media. Investors are also human with many failing habits, biases, clueless, fallible, risk takers, reckless, kneejerk, it goes on and on.
Exactly, there's an element of luck that can never be removed. Personally I've always felt poker was about 65% skill and 35% luck. (if someone has different numbers than those that's fine)
Hello themickey, It does not matter what that chart is doing. Just trade the charts everyday and try to get rich as fast as you can. Trade as much as you can. What other choice do you have to get rich? You can work full time job and do 401K, that is what most people do. Do not worry about all that gambling stuff and fancy talk. Who cares if trading is gambling, real, fake, or whatever, just trade and put money in your bank account. Just make money.
You are so fucked with that attitude. My prediction, if the being banned outright thing doesn't pan out, is that you are going to simply stop posting one day, because you lost everything you had trading ES futures at 100 contracts per trade. Think of this as a pre-emptive cautionary tale. Ignore it at your peril. I am serious. Let's see if you are. You have, what I estimate to be, 18 months of a free ride long. Much less if Trump starts his China trade war 2.0 early. After that it will get dicey.
