Yeah....I shoulda made that a little more clear.

Those guys that sell their 'picks' every week are usually awful. A few actually do pretty well in picking stuff but most of them are terrible. I'm a victim. When I first got into trading I got sucked into some of those things and MAN was that dumb. Those guys make NO money from their trading....they only make it off of suckers like me that are looking for the quick hit.

Oh well....learned that life lesson the hard way. It was actually a good thing. It forced me to learn both fundamentals and technicals alike to make my OWN decisions on what is a good trade.

  2. I can't 'sell' the index. It is what it is, regardless of what I do. Even inspite of this big swoon it's crushing the major averages by a huge margin. FWLT helped a lot.

I have lost money on my dip buys on RIMM an BIDU yesterday and last week and my FXI calls are in the toilet, but they dont expire for awhile.

  3. Sure, but if you followed his advise you would have bought the DOW at 14200, so now you'd have lost 1100 points, which is US$5500 per contract.
Everyone can tell you to buy all the time and they are right about 50% of the time. But that will lose you money. It's knowing when to buy and sell.

Ask him when he'd sell, not when he'd buy. You will not get an answer. Besides, would you trust a papertrader to advise you on real trading yourself?

  6. he certainly nailed those puts. Had his expiration date been sooner he would have made much more. Still good call.

  9. StckTrdr Index:

Beginning value 0% started x DAYS ago.

Highest value: $$$$XXXX.XXXX some GREAT astronomical paper-traded figure - u fill in the blanks.

Amount of sheep that have flocked to his SAGE wisdom: who know but many on ET and grows daily.

Shocked account value and underlings: countless

Attitude until all is evaporated - complacent and fearless until quits.

    Those not miffed 1 (me).

Is this the norm - absolutely.

    Paysense

PS So you will know when is the time to sell and my statement of buying puts last week in GOOG/RIMM/AAPL/BIDU fell on deaf ears?

    But you were buying stock?:p

  10. Funny thing is he NEVER took any profits (assuming he actually even had a live trading account...which is extremely doubtful.)
