Stock Swing Traders

Discussion in 'Journals' started by coolweb, Jan 2, 2006.

  1. Everything I learned as a foundation is from Spydertrader and Jack Hershey. As for profits, it depends on the prior similiar cycle and is usually 4-6 days for a +10%. This market is extremely fruitful and I am not sure how long it will last. Its common this month to gain 4% a day on avg of each of my holdings.

Take a look at how spyder does his stops.

What characteristics made Lend a buy for you?

It was on a watch list because of fundamentals:
Profit margin; ROE; earnings growth: and PEG ratio all exceeded my criteria.

The stock had dropped back from a new high and tested the 47 area (near the 20ma)twice.

I also use a 50ma on the hourly charts. It crossed today.

  4. I will resume posting some swing trades this week.

I have completed/tested/backtested/realtimetested most of my ideas and now in execution mode.

some of the trades I posted were a bit daytradish

I will try to filtre them out.

I Want to get on trades that make around 10-15-30%

    I want some 3baggers 5baggers 300-500%

    but Thats achieved by what

smaller caps , maybe teens, too small would be a lot less liquidity

I wrote this a bit drunk so not thinking straight :D

Anyway I've written up my business plan over the weekend.

I have broken up my 3 trading ideas to
    daytrading
    short selling futures
    swing/investments

Will be focusing a lot of my efforts in investments and swings.

Because that is where the real money is, Thats where the SCALE is.

first stock on my list: VCLK

I will be waiting for my entry, this stock is prime for a big 100% movement in 2006 but the time to entry will have to be waited

like a hawk on its prey.

    We wait.

    wait...
till the right time, the lowest risk, with full capital leveraged 2x . IN.

Thats how the game will be played.

    It will be played right.

    Risk first, Profit second.

I will continue to perfect all aspects of entry, swing entry, risk entry, exit reward calculation. profit taking exit @ exuberance.

This year will be focused on PERFORMANCE.
THERE ARE NO DELAYS ALLOWED , PERFORMANCE. HIGH PERFORMANCE ONLY.

  5. Ideas:

Are there swing possibilites at irrational exuberance?

    No.
    No.
    No.

Things that took me awhile to understand. You are looking for blood from stone, Wheres the blood, Its non existent, Wheres the buyers, They are already bought in. Maybe a trickle tomorrow.

Understand this and we can now differentiate what price A can be swinged and what can not be swinged.

  7. I have went in LARGE

    CMS

    ENTRY: 15.00

    STOP
    14.95

    TARGET: $17+

I margined half the farm, so

Either I come out a complete retard with a few hundred / k short.

Or I come out with a full house ALL IN.

I understand this price action to the T , I hope it plays out. God lets pray together!

  8. The trade looks like it has good potential, but man is that a boring stock!

    How many shares you got?

  9. cnms2

    cnms2

You'll not lose your farm with a $0.05 stop ...

Anyway, what are you basing your $17+ forecast on? CMS's chart doesn't show anything exciting to me. I think you'll get stopped quickly.

Check out the weekly chart. nice cup with handle set-up. I might have waited for a break of 15.14 and would have probably had a little wider stop.

1:40 is a nice risk reward ratio. You can have a lot of losses if you eventually get a win.
