    In this thread

We are traders who look for 2-3-5-10% or as much as the market can give us during a 1-15 day hold period.

    NYSE / NASDAQ positions.

    No penny stocks.
    $5+ stocks only.

I will be trading mostly $25-$90 stocks myself because its easier to trade.
    Mininum volume 1 MIL+

    Let the games begin.

    snip........

a recent post in rebuttal to some stuff

    coolwebb says:

I think you have misunderstood me :

but personally I don't care about newbies.

Any posts that were structrued as help to the newbies were merely accidental mind dump posts.

    All I care about is,

Grob would stop bullshitting about his group of homemakers and pharmicsts traders making 1600% returns while meeting twice a month sipping morning tea and eating biscuits.

When he mentions it, it makes me tingle inside enough for me to call him out or any thread he mentions it in

so coolwebb chew on this for a while:

    1200% a year

Nice, the best traders in the world all concentrated in an IBD group in tuscon.
We need them to come on elitetrader to teach us some tricks of the trade. Cause its severly lacking here

The quarter thing happens four times a year most often.

First quarter generally is a good firm quarter for starting the year.

Second quarter usually keeps up but may be off a little.

The summer is a time when a lot of activity slows and makes for good profits at a smooth pace. The list in the universe will be running less strictly to keep the size constant.

Personnally, I like the markets best from Labor day onward. This is where I split the year into two parts because I have about equal profits before and after Labor Day.

What makes for steady profits is market timing and front runnning the herd. Being "pushed" by those who provide the momentum is where it's at.

Thunderdog estimated 1200% as you did by the maths you did.

Investing works somewhat differently than multiplication or successive addition.

Tucson is a regular stop for eastern people who run high performance shops. Same for the west coast shops. The invitation only stuff is popular here.

Our support team here is formed of people who have time to do the prep work for the Tucson IBD MeetUp group. We have three support web sites coming on line for various purposes.

By meeting every 2nd and 4th Thurday, people stay tuned to "processes". The group is self selecting and very different than ET. Small meetings are held in between our regular meetings. these smaller groups are just work groups where exchanges go on for 3 or 4 hours.

I am available for sessions too that result from an initiation that sets a place and date. These go on until I tire (6 to 12 hours) and they are really hard hitting and focussed and usually on a machine part of the time.

The participants are processing about 125 to 175 pages every two weeks. We have a question center where a lot of Q's surface. They are handled immidiately if they are of the sort that are hang ups. Others are handled in meetings as a regular part of the 2nd and 4th. They are topically grouped and seqway from one topic to another.

The main effort of the process is building the mind. Last meeting color handouts of Forbes gatefold feature was pursued. Next meeting we will be handing out six 50meg videos (25 minutes each) of the six replacements for the forbes Brain exercises to make it fitter. Forbes deals in non financial stuff like Merzenich's Music, juggling, language, tangos, puzzles and ping pong. we deal in financial brain fitness instead by using six parallel fitness exercises that get the same of better effect.

By doing camstasia videos on each of the ideas introduced in all of the readings, Tucson creates "processes" that can be repeated at worst and be used for iterative refinement as a normal fare. We have three camtasia composers.

Everyone is building an 11 part trading business plan. It incorporates thecontinual iterative refinements leading towards higher levels of efficientcy and performance in 8 separate identified aspects of making money that have worked, pragmatically for others in the past.

A group of people that fill a dining room come and enjoy themsleves. They are flying in from several states and some groups are meeting remotely.

People do handouts. We scan their work and project it on a screen. It is annotated as it is recorded on video and audio. The file is then available for review after the meeting, forever. It can be snagged as desired and the handout goes in the binders. we do a binder a meeting and they line up in rows on shelved and everything is available in color for copying and emailing to others.

This is the opposite of where you are.

You do not know how to calculate annual returns based upon partial year's performance. Use a calculator and do the compounding on a two weekly basis since most are turning over their capital every meeting. that is an exponent of 26 per year and the profit per cycle is running as indicated. You have the wrong answer if arithematic is used, by the way.

You are mistaken about the character of the Tucson group. That is normal for you to do in the manner in which you do it. You are the spitting image of what it is like to be an ET regular. Vaccuous in terms of ideas, contributions and support for those like you.

Tricks of the trade are you bag and where you reside. I am suggesting to you that there is something really of great value in being part of a group committed to learning and passing it forward and paying forward shares of profits to others in our community.

No one is coming anywhere to teach you anything. There is absolutely no quid pro quo where you exist. People spend time and money in their lives. Why would anyone spend anything on you?

You, at this point, have no inckling of what's missing...not even a glib glimmer.

People in Tucson do come here; they learn a lot all the time from Spy and his colleagues. Their evaluation, as is mine, is that it is a good place to learn and get corroboration of what is what.

Here's a graph a person gave me yesterdayat the end of our 1 o'clock meeting. He is front running this baby and it will probably make the news soon. There are four levels of trailing stops notations on the chart. See if you can annotate it and send it back.

    You don't have a clue.......

just ask anyone who has read the 83 pages of this stumnble bumble thread.
