Stock Swing Traders

Discussion in 'Journals' started by coolweb, Jan 2, 2006.

  1. Like charts, moving averages,even medium ;
    or small term charts;
    may have more slippage thsan other methods.::cool:

    Sometimes my swing trades turn ito daytrades if/when it goes sideways trend.
    But QQQQ /GOOG still looks like nice polar bear trend, but good thing about shorts , they help fuel the rally.Just like Art Cashin said years ago., midpoint of day area.

    CSCO still looks long strong uptrend midpoint of day;
    however better leave that one to the daytraders.:cool:

  6. =============
    coolweb;
    Partner, Nextel Partners is making a new high /very bullish;
    good brand & volume.

    Don't know how its relating to QQQQ;
    which is still downtrending most all time frames except long term.

    As strong as nxtp is probably would keep a small or super small position on PAST target; help in learning/working stock;
    & if SPY,QQQQ are strong, probably leave a big part on.

    Actually do daytrade some [charts]; but in other words a swing traders target past 28.55,/29.55 will help in swingtrading, however small partial position. If cut loss, cut it ALL.

    Wonder if this is an uptrend/trend day????? Very Strong premarket

    Hope this helps

  9. some long term/ swing trades

    Entered
    OXPS 30.55
    IMCL 37.05

    [both stops todays low ]

    Problem:

    Extremely small size
    30k or so.

    Problem #2:

    I started out the position with about 1-2k shares each, but then I started selling 1/.2 of it and 1/4th of it,

    why? I can't stand the risk if I was wrong.

    Problem #3: Swing trades require full attention.
    I missed some entries I should have entered with , the problem is,
    entering now, whats the use? I'm too scared to go full on, too small of a size to go anywhere.

    Missed the train,trying to get on the next cargo train, but ships to alaska instead of california.

    Timing is everything,

    Todays lesson is tomorrows future.

    Daytrading doing great though, making a few k every now and then.

    I still have a few hundred k to invest, so what is it

    Short term gains, or long term positioning.

    Prioritizing time is the key.

  10. QQQQ related GOOG short s don't look like as good as a downtrend as it has been; both are notably stronger eod.

    Only a few NYSE oil/gas stocks downtrending ;
    most/enough look like excellent uptrends for past several days, & now.

    Even if they do pull back off a bit off premarket gaps;
    may try to swing trade enter end of day.:cool:

    Not a prediction.
