I'll take it that you had a bad day in the market then? Ugly site...that's too funny. I'm as unimaginative as they come, and I think I could have come up with something better than that.
I've lurked on EliteTrader.com for a couple of weeks now, and appreciate most of the informative posts by the regular members. I've been looking for a service to give me fresh ideas that I may have otherwise missed since I'm also employed as a real estate appraiser. After reading Tony's posts and seeing firsthand how these websites can manipulate their results, I thought it was a good idea to see if and how the other sites posted their trades, if they did at all. So, I emailed millenium-traders.com, realitytrader.com, momentumstockplays.com, aitradesystems.com, and hotstix.com to see if they could provide me with any information concerning my question. So far, momentumstockplays.com is the only one to have responded. According to the reply I got, they posted their detailed trades on their site for a couple of months before pulling it for, and I quote, "it was a pain in the butt and I really don't care what people think." They went on to say that they've adjusted their trading to more of a swing approach as opposed to daytrading. Anyway, here is the link I was provided with. Any thoughts or comments welcome. If and when I hear back from the other sites I sent an email to, I will promptly post it. http://www.momentumstockplays.com/MSPbreakoutportfolio.asp Cheers, Benny
never got your e-mail, not sure why. Anyway, I already answered this question before, let me refer to that answer: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=40856#post40856 scroll down to the last post on the page. Since then my opinion on this matter was only reinforced by several traders telling me about their disappointment with services that showed nice performance track... with just one problem: noone could reflect it in their own trading and it was really frustrating to have mediocre day and read in report about many points pulled by the service from the market. Best regards, Vad
If you have no trade performance posted of any kind then how does one evaluate the efficacy of your services? You should at least post something like momentumstockplays, ie entries with date stamp. You must give us something that we can use to evaluate or measure your results. Without this how do we know that *you* know? Also, you shouldn't be dissuaded from this by a few crybaby trader wannabees who can't measure up. Comparing one's results with those of the "expert" or "teacher" is a good way to see how the pupil is doing. It doesn't make sense to not keep records of some sort to provide evidence of your service. You don't give exams without the expectation of grading. I submit to you that those who are afraid of comparing their results to those of their mentor are in actuality afraid of themselves, afraid of what they might see when they look in the "mirror". If you lack objectivity, then stay out of trading. If you are irrational and timid stay out the market.
<b>If you have no trade performance posted of any kind then how does one evaluate the efficacy of your services?</b> By free trial? Where one can see for himself instead of relying on numbers that can be forged easily? And even if they are honest they don't always allow to see if plays matched trader's personal preferences, ability to execute, risk tolerance etc? <b>You should at least post something like momentumstockplays, ie entries with date stamp. </b> Date stamp? We are doing intraday trading. <b>It doesn't make sense to not keep records of some sort to provide evidence of your service. You don't give exams without the expectation of grading. </b> Again, free trial? I don't understand why you dismiss this as the best way to evaluate service. Can't imagine what could be better than see for oneself. Not even mentioning that records won't reflect educational side of service - and we are educational service rather than stock picking. Showing how we look for plays, how we evaluate them,, read the movement, maintain right mindset is what I consider our first priority. Our ideal student is not just blind follower. He knows what he is doing and in many instances he plays his own picks applying our methods. Best regards, Vad
Do you allow for a three month free trial? Anything less than that is impossible to evaluate efficacy with any degree of certainty. Performance over time is the only reasonable way to see if you are the real deal. A day or week trial is not enough. Trade records is a nice solution to this, showing how you do in the long run. The argument that new traders are intimidated by trade records of their mentor is a weak one to my mind. They should be intimidated shouldn't they, afterall they are new. Also it gives them a standard to aspire to and demonstrates to them the best that they could hope for with your service. You need some kind of performance results posted on your site so potential new members can see your stuff.
TokyoB and Katrina_Johns are both NEW posters and BOTH seem to be intent of pumping the virtues of momentumstockplays... snake oil alert!!! LMAO, when will pumpers realise that they are not doing their credibility any favors by using such underhand tactics with multiple nicknames... For all newbies out there, I have had some exposure to the workings of some of these vendors... The ones I feel offer a good service (at least during your learning curve):- Threei's www.realitytrader.com for scalping... Alan Farley's book and material ( www.hardrightedge.com ) for swingtrading Tony Oz's books and material and services ( www.tonyoz.com ) for daytrading and swingtrading Linda Raschke's stuff for swingtrading www.mrci.com/lbr The www.realmoney.com site for accounting exposes and general investing information The above are well-respected and professional, have been around a long while and will be around for a long while, in my humble opinion... Just my 2 cents, Candle
Well, from our point of view 1 week is quite enough to see if we know what we are doling. Performace track posted on the site is not a good way to tell real deal from snake oil. If you don't believe it, try and look closer at sites with best results posted. I never said anything about tradres being "intimidated" by trade record. "Intimidated" is not the point - point is, in cases I was talking about observing trades in real time they can see clearly that track is not truthful and objective. Vad
