Tony, I was away and didn´t have access to the net before. I think this is another way that shortboy.com manipulates his returns: In 1999 his interest income: 30205 his total income 114105 So 26% of his profit was not from trading In 2000 his interest income: 36136.5 his total income 29479 So 28% of his profit was not from trading In 2001 (up to 8/30/01) int income: 14417 his total income 42760 So 34% of his profit was not from trading Fact: trading performance of shortboy.com is as follows: 1999 8.39% (half year) 2000 18.67% (full year) 2001 5.3% (up to 8/30/01) I haven´t done the math for complete 2001 because I don´t want to waste my time. I just cut and paste these from my calculations from a previous thread (see below) I think it is quite clear where we are going with this even with the total time remaining in 2001 calculated. I know that according to the SEC he can add interest income to calculate his total return but since he is selling signals I think it is important to look at his trading results. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=1962&perpage=6&pagenumber=4
This is just priceless. My average interest paid on cash was 2.1% in 2001. How did shortboy manage to make 14,417 on a 100K account. This is 14.41% in interest in 8 eight months (the equivalent of 21.65% a year) How does he get TEN TIMES the going rate? This is as bogus as bogus can be! You see guys, someone is playing with the numbers of PAPER TRADING returns to lure you in. Be careful! EOM
Tony, this was before he lowered his portfolio by a factor of 5 (from $500,000 to $100,000) so the interest was 1.92% for the 8 months. My point though is the amount of his return represented by his interest earned (doing nothing) and how much represents his trading.
Okay, gang, I'm only going to reiterate this one last time. Posts containing interpersonal attacks and insults, blatent sales pitches, profanity, and information otherwise not pertinent to trading will be deleted. Members who continue to abuse these guidelines will be submitted to Baron for consideration of having their member account banned from the site. Of course you can choose to keep signing up under other names and keep getting kicked out again, but I recommend against that exercise in futility. Specifically related to the garbage thrown on this thread, if one feels that a trading author's book(s) are no good, you are free to indicate that in a book review elsewhere on this site. Likewise, if one finds no value in another member's statements, you are free to use the ignore feature of the board. Countering with insults and non-substantive attacks will not be tolerated.
I'm surprised at your blatant attack on Tony and momentumstockplays.com. Tony spoke the truth about Sam. Obviously he agreed because he is yet to offer a rebuttal. If the only thing you can say negative about momentumstockplays is that it's ugly, I'll take that as a positive. I've looked your site over and I'm willing to bet if you want to compare performance, you'll be crucified. But then again, what do I know? Aero
Well spoken, Zboy... and some nice moderation on the post deletions, to get this thread back to some semblance of normality... It is a pity to see fellow Brethren fighting... let us ALL unite to fight the only battle that matters... the battle against our trading demons! God bless all of my Brothers... and may God give each one of us the attributes required to extract a living from the markets... Regards, Candle
