If I want to buy stock for a friend, and present them with a stock certificate as a gift, what is the best way to do this? Who would issue a certificate of ownership... the company itself?

  2. You can get this one for $35 on line with frame @lutz.com

Ask your brokerage firm if they have some form of a gift certificate

  5. You do know these shares are FTD's. Everytime one is sold a short must cover.

  6. Kris, this suggestion is very good. I have done the same a year ago.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, is it a fairly simple process to put the stock in my friend's name? My brokerage handles this?

  9. Yes. There is usually a fee for getting a physical certificate from your broker, because it's really in their name unless you take delivery.
