Stimulus bill provides $15 to $20 billion to subsidize money losing companies!

  1. I agree with you. It's the companies that create new jobs that should get the support, not the ones that lose jobs.

Unfortunately, money-losing and job-losing companies squeal to their congress critters like pigs in an abattoir. Obviously, politicians must show sympathy and "fix the problem" by protecting jobs in moribund companies. Meanwhile, the companies that are actually doing well can't really get much political traction with their "potential" for job gains. Job losses are so much more tangible and news-making than job-gain stories. Moreover, the successful companies look like easy pickings for the tax man to support redistribution of wealth to the less fortunate.

    Such is life (and politics)!
