    Another one under the bus:

The administration gave Fisher the billion-dollar contract in May to build additional stretches of the wall in Arizona, despite a lawsuit around the South Texas project and an ongoing audit by the Pentagon’s inspector general of a previous border wall contract that is looking into possible “inappropriate influence.”

On Sunday, the congressman who called for the audit responded to the president’s tweet.

“The President isn’t telling the truth again. The Administration has awarded huge contracts to the same company, which is under Federal investigation, that built this fence,” Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., wrote in an email. “His Administration has also entertained outsourcing to private firms to get more mileage done before the election at the expense of proper oversight. There is no reason for construction to continue during a pandemic.”

Lol, all walls and politics aside, if the cat knew anything about construction, he'd know that is the best time in the world to build. Temp labor is cheap af since people that actually care about their finances are doing anything they can to keep a roof over their family's head.
That said, a contract's a contract, T&M is written in... so it only favors the subs. But at least they are feeding their families.
    The guy's an idiot.
    Case closed.

'Torture!' Republicans meltdown after Steve Bannon gets ordered to prison

Republicans immediately complained Thursday after Steve Bannon was ordered to report to prison by July 1.

Bannon had been free on appeal after being convicted on two counts of contempt of Congress for ignoring a subpoena from the Jan. 6 Committee.

But U.S. District Court Judge Carl Nichols revoked Bannon's bail at a hearing Thursday and said he must surrender on July 1.

"It is with great sadness and anger that we observe the death of the judicial system in America," Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Steve Bannon sought judicial review of the illegal demands of a runaway congressional committee, unlike any ever comprised."

"And they’re sending him to prison — not just to torture him but to torture us."

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blamed the "FAKE Jan 6th Committee that was set up by Nancy Pelosi."

"The DOJ is completely corrupt!!" she exclaimed.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk claimed Bannon's jail time was an effort to stop him from participating in the 2024 election.

"All of July, all of August, all of September, all of October, they're effectively taking Stephen K Bannon out of this election," Kirk said on his Thursday podcast. "That's what this is all about. They're trying to take Steve Bannon out of this election."

    Wait...

Steve Bannon is punished with 4 months in prison after 2x felony convictions in which his sentencing was put on hold and now a higher court rejected the appeal to tell Bannon to go to prison on July 1st. ???

Trump has 34x felony convictions and will be sentenced on July 11th. :sneaky:

Stevie Bannon files emergency application asking not to be sent to prison saying '' He's afraid they will bust his ass in there.''
