Years ago I invested in many hedge funds. Through cross-pollination of mailing lists, I received other mailings from hedge funds I'd never heard of. Then, years of silence. But just this last weekend I've received multiple phone calls from nice-sounding receptionists. They inform me that so-and-so is now opening a fund that had been closed. Or that some trader is coming out of retirement and will trade with an existing family of funds, etc. Something is percolating in the hedge fund world.
