You took my MRI comment as advice.

You think stents are “stints” and nobody saw your insult. Grow a brain and take CoQ10 with your poison. The downside? It won’t do anything for your intellectual capacity.

    Fuqstick, my ego notwithstanding...

I am published. I have a research citation in reversing dox-induced chemotherapeutic resistance with cal-channel antagonists.

You? You once had a $0.00 balance in a Refco account.

" The researchers found that using long-acting niacin to raise the HDL cholesterol level did not result in reducing heart attacks, strokes or deaths. "

I never said niacin does any of those. And by the way it just shows that high HDL itself won't prevent you getting a VCD. Also high HDL raises your total cholesterol! :)

I said it can clear out your pipes. But before that I raise your link with my link:

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3145140/

"Niacin was the first drug to show efficacy in reduction of both major cardiovascular events and mortality in patients with prior myocardial infarction"

    Similarly:

    https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11883-001-0014-y

Now here we go with my pipe cleaning claim:

    https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/new...itamin_in_keeping_arteries_open_was_premature

" An average wall reduction of 0.014 of a millimeter with niacin was observed. By contrast, the ezetimibe group showed no significant change."

    Furthermore from your link:

"and trying to artificially raise levels of the good cholesterol doesn't appear to translate into lowering a person's risk of heart problems."

Then why is my doctor advising me to raise my HDL??? Who am I to believe in? You know what? I believe in my Google Fu. :)

Here is the funniest part of your link. In the next sentence they contradict themselves:

""HDL is a nice marker — if it's higher, you tend to be at lower risk."

What the fuckaddy fuck? They just said it doesn't lower the risk a sentence ago!!! :)

Facts are stubborn things. Half of the people with CVD have completely normal cholesterol levels. That tells me that using cholesterol as a predictive marker is not better than a COIN FLIP.

Reduce sugar intake = reduction in VLDL = reduction in triglycerides.

  8. What to look forward to is painless stents, technology is getting better. Took them less than an hour for angiogram, prep and place 2 stents in me. A 1/4" incision on my wrist healed in a few days. Ride my bike 10 miles in couple weeks. The trick is to catch it before a big heart attack, which i did. Dodged a bullet. Mine was so mild there was no heart damage. Where as my buddy has a dead spot about the size of a dime according to his cardiologist. You all have Good luck on your timing ...

  10. Follow doctor's advice.....

Lipitor and the like drug sales reps go out and visit all the doctors and pound them with information to convince them to prescribe their statin for any high cholesterol conditions. They are not out there pumping diet and exercise and lifestyle changes at all. I spoke with several doctors. They are not in a lab studying the effects of cholesterol and running test trials. The GP is reading hte literature put out and like a robot, high choelsterol? Here take this statin. My doctor was honest with me and said statins should be prescribed only for patients with previous serious CVD event or those in highest risk category.

Furthermore I am one of the few people who actually read in detail the study that was performed to support the finding of the FDA to permit statin use. Let me go dig up the numbers before you tell me to follow the advice of someone who is following the advice of a salesperson....
