Of course there is. Russia for example has no free media apart from 1 small radio show, and even there not totally. We on the other hand have it. Yes it is biased, no doubt, but both FOX and CNN report facts for the most part, just use different narrative. And when they are pointed to error, they retract. This is why I say Trump caused huge long term damage by calling free media enemy of people. This alone makes him unfit for the office.
You are technically correct with your definition of "Free Media", but whether it is the government pulling the strings and forcing the narrative or some private individual, it amounts to the same thing. The media and news organizations should be about the search for TRUTH. And they aren't. They're all just editorials. So when Trump calls them the enemy of the people, they are, actually. What should matter to the people is truth. Therefore, if an agency isn't providing truth, they are spreading lies, and therefore they are the enemy of the electorate that relies on truth. This goes for both those media outlets against Trump and the ones that are on Trump's side.
Just as an FYI: when we talk about the free press please understand that newspapers were political tools when the constitution was written and used to slander opponents and publish almost explicitly opinion pieces. Our understanding of the free press is not what the intention of the free press actually is. Thomas Jefferson, the former ambassador to France and fluent French speaker, hired an a French translator when he was Secretary of State to conceal his relationship with this person as the editor of a newspaper him and James Madison financed for the explicit purpose of taking down Alexander hamilton. The point is some of the media today is obviously a crook of shit. Fox News being the biggest culprit but it is certainly within the parameters of freedom of the press as intended constitutionally.
FoxNews is one of the only fair reporting outlets in the country. FoxNews nighttime shows are equal time.
Not it is not, you say it because you able to only comprehend 1 narrative. Once again, both FOX and CNN twist facts to serve their narratives. Where liberal media wins is having more channels, but where conservative media wins is talk radio. So it is kinda balanced.
