I honestly believe that the cause of this inflation spike we are seeing now is based on severe supply chain issues that started back during the Covid slam of 2020. This led to a domino effect of the administration sending out the checks, extending the college-loan payment freeze, the stupid child-tax credit BS, and all the rest of it. It has taken time to filter down through the system, and here it is now. Powell has done enough of trying to get people to stop spending their money by raising rates to a level not seen since 2018. Let us pause now and see how these higher rates will filter through the system. Powell admitted that there is a lag between these hikes and how it affects the economy. Well, then STOP already! You've done enough! As for energy prices? I will allow oil and gas leases to be expanded on federal lands, because I do not give a shit about the spotted-owl or golden carp. We need energy, and that means fossil fuels. You reduce the price of fossil fuels, and Americans will have more money in their pocket to live a life, not struggle everyday to put food on table.
A president cannot change inflation... pricing is on a global and local scale and since we dont live in Russia, the president cannot fix prices.
