Don't believe everything you read on the net. The writer is an Ivy league "never ran". A lot of successful people in the business where at the right place at the right time and got a foot in the business. From working class neighborhoods in Chicago and New York working at firms in Chicago and New York. There's just more opportunities there. You want to get into high finance in a small city? You have to be born at the top of the food chain where it is purely about connections. Or, go to an Ivy league school in the US and come back to your small town of London or Dusseldorf where somebody might give you a chance..
