+1 What a joke of a day. I just either couldn't get in on time or couldn't pull the trigger. Some of these prices are just too fast for my limit orders. As one of the customer service guys at Lightspeed said, "using the order entry box to do orders is like bringing a horse buggy to a Nascar race." Well, If I don't get it, I don't get it. I suppose part of me just wanted to end with a positive week and not lose on the last day. Sold Short 117.22 09:36 Bought Cover 117.20 09:38 Again my mind tells me to change the exit price to a lower point yet part of me just wanted to exit. This was another one where I was down a decent amount on the pullback but I stuck it out to get out when I was in decent shape of taking decent profit. Sold Short 117.18 10:18 Bought Cover 117.17 10:19 Complete mistake here. I wrote in the wrong price and it executed as a market order. I had to exit as soon as I could because it didn't look good. I took a commission loss on it. Glad I did exit fast as the chart didn't look good at that point. In summary, I have improved since 4 months ago. I'm hopefully a break even trader now. I probably just need more time to work on exit prices. Letting them run a bit. Hopefully that will come. Interesting note is that I don't get why some one puts up a huge block of shares like 100 K shares on the level 2 quotes to try to discourage people at around 12:10. It still got taken out and it just fueled the move down as those 100 K shares had to be sold for losses. I don't get why people do that. Basically just says level 2 quotes mean nothing. Anytime, one sees a huge amount of shares taken out. Get in as those traders have to exit the bad trade. That's definitely some one learns from screen time.
+15 Couldn't pull the trigger again and was too slow on some moves. Missed getting in on few by micro seconds. Bought 116.70 10:00 Sold Short 116.43 12:01 Sold 116.73 10:03 Bought Cover 116.40 12:01 Sold Short 116.99 12:13 Bought Cover 116.9422* 12:13 *I got so hurried to get in on the entry that I totally lost track of the correct exit price on the confusion. It became a market order. Good entry but just horrible exit.
+16 Tough to read where it's going to go for me today. I wanted to get in on early action but really didn't go where I thought it would. Ended up just scalping out a bunch of times. Sold Short 119.94 10:34 Sold Short 121.11 11:15 Bought Cover 119.92 10:35 Bought Cover 121.06 11:15 Sold Short 120.66 11:48 Sold Short 120.77 11:51 Bought Cover 120.63 11:49 Bought Cover 120.75 11:51* *A sudden surge in price had me filled fast and not what I expected. I opted to get out as fast as I could. When I get out with a .02 gain, often the price has gone against me for a few minutes. That is where I am trying to just get out. Better safe than sorry but not much money making. LOL
Looks like stocks are up big while I was gone. No trading tomorrow. Gotta do a gig for a few hours early in the morning.
-126 I should've not traded as I was gone in the morning. Then came back. Terrible day. Big Set Back. Tough Learning Lesson. Only highlight was that I found out that the stop orders with entries work now. I tried it. Could be a useful tool in the future. Bought 120.70 Sold 120.14 Got too greedy with the overshoot. I could've gotten out with 0.02 gain but forgot that it pulled back too far. Anytime it pulls back too far from my entry, I will put in a 0.02 exit next time. That can kill someone trading counter trend. Bought 120.29 Sold 120.20 I didn't mean to enter this trade. I was concerned it was going to keep going down so I got out. I was setting in a price on the order entry box when I realized that it was on stop mode so it executed as a market order. Scalp Bought 120.01 Sold 120.07
+69 Glad I can finally trade with the trend without waiting for a pullback. Previously I was forced to use limit orders all the time. Brought a horse buggy to a Nascar race. There were many times where I had a good idea where the market is heading but just couldn't get in. Prices always shot past me. That was the reason why I was mostly counter trend trading. I'm still using limit orders for exits. Still being a bit conservative with exits but that's ok. Gotta go. Sold Short 120.9091 09:32 Bought Cover 120.89 09:33* *First time using a stop to enter a trade in the morning I was surprised on the slippage. The spread seems to be around .06-.10 in the morning but the price movements are much larger. I have to take that into account. My first entry using a stop was at 120.96. I didn't look at the price I got in at and thought 120.89 was enough. It wasn't. Not quite the same as limit orders but ok. +74 Well, calling it a day. Grinded it out with a positive week. That's all I can ask for. So glad to trade with the trend now. I can get in at the right time as well without prices shooting past me. Previously, price would reach my exit target within a few seconds forget the entry using limit orders. Just couldn't get in at all. Remarkable comeback this week. I'm ending the week on a positive note so I'm done now. My next endeavor will be to work on exit points. I am still scalping out. Sometimes, I'm glad I did, sometimes not. That's the part that is hard to judge. Sort of glad I had the big loss on Wednesday. I made me try out the entries with stops. Thanks Lightspeed for resolving that issue. Next week is a new week. The prices quickly reversed after that. It never reached its measured move potential. It missed it by a lot which was a bit hard to understand. However there were many other trades where my exits were well short of their potential.
-123 Ouch.. I kept waiting for a breakout but it never happened until I was not entering the trade. Must've been the 5th try that it did. The pullbacks were too difficult to deal with. I was doing a bunch of stops that were mostly all hit for losses. I was too aggressive. I was up early but got too carried away. Bought 125.04 10:38 Sold 125.84 10:40 3 rd try for breakout after its mini-triple top. Never happened. Should've held on to see it try again. Sold Short 124.6325 10:41 Bought Cover 124.83 10:43 Tried for a second leg down that didn't appear until later. I should realize that the trend is still up at that point & should not counter trend trade as much of it remained above the 10 EMA. Bought 125.10:49 Sold 124.89755 10:53 Another effort for me to see if it could break it. I should've opted to get out with +.02. After multiple tries of this pattern type. I will not be be going in on the breakouts. Too risky. Sold Short 125.3604 13:19 Bought Cover 125.65 13:33 I couldn't sit through the pullback on this. It hit my stop for a big loss. Should've realized that it hit the 15min 10EMA which will cause a bounce back. That's something I need to watch for. I was a counter trend trade that hadn't crossed the south of the 5 min 20EMA for long. Bought 124.97 13:58* Sold 124.83 14:01 * Didn't mean to get into this trade. -160 I just can't keep my emotions in check. My worst day in a long time. This new way of trading can be big for losses. I wasn't using much stops as yesterday which got worse. I understand what is going on but can't seem to put it all together. I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board and think of every trade carefully. I can't just jump in quickly anymore. I have to watch my emotions. Sold Short 123.84 09:50 Bought Cover 124.33 09:43 It formed a double bottom and went up. I should've just opted to get out with .02 like some other times. I should've looked at the other large green bars ahead of them. Really tough trade on that one. Sold Short 125.60 15:47 Bought Cover 126.0471 15:53 My worst trade was I was away from the computer for a while. Came back and wanted to trade but not being clear headed about everything. I should've looked at how far down it has gone while I was away. It overshot and was due to bounce back. I just can't believe it. Also H5 in the series. Just terrible choice. Sold Short 127.22025 Bought Cover 127.23 The slippage there was unreal. It was 127.30 price for the entry stop and I didn't look at the entry price. The exit was about the same. -50 Sold Short 126.97 09:49 Bought Cover 127.24 09:52 With this new strategy I'm implementing. It comes with a huge price. I've found often that I enter on what I believe below the low of the prior bar. I get in and the market often does a pullback. This is happen to me several times where I am stopped out. I can't win stops or not stops. I am learning from this experience. This is the same thing that happened to me yesterday. Letting the pullbacks get the best of me. Bought 126.94 09:50 Sold 126.63 09:55 Had no clue that this order was still there and it triggered. I completely forgot to cancel it. This is new and a big problem if it persists. Spent all day trying to recoup losses. The commissions ate at me hard core. Seems as though the morning is extremely tough for me. Probably I am not clear headed as I should be. Not a morning person.
