Stanford University professor Stephen Quake is a polymath who has made scientific breakthroughs at the nexus of physics, biology and technology and helped start 10 separate companies. Now he wants to rush innovation in health sciences by building a nonprofit research center to spur collaboration among researchers at Stanford, UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. Looks like he has some very worthy projects but everything in the universe has a shelf life.

 

I knew a couple of polymaths in the last century. Do you know where they are? They are all dead...
