I'd wondered about that. I do like the idea of having things separate drives...the ocd part of me, perhaps. But I'd glad to hear this isn't a make-or-break issue...

The smartest thing I did after getting all of my programs, updates, etc... on my new SSD, was to make an image of it. The amount of time it takes to get a hard drive setup with all of your stuff is amazing. It seems about every 9 months my computer starts to get buggy, so now when that happens I will just install the image I created and save days of torture. I only have a 128 gig SSD, but it is enough for my needs. If I had a lot of data I would put on a 2nd drive. I just run everything off the SSD.
In the days of 32gb ssd's you would put the OS only on the SSD and then the apps on the spinny drive, or a second SSD. These days even a 128gb or 256gb ssd is large enough to run all of your OS and apps (like MSFT office suite and trading platform). Just use the spinny drive for data, movies, porn, etc.
You don't move anything. It is simply a function of exporting/importing. File Menu - Import/Export Easylanguage - Will launch Wizard. Choose Export EasyLanguage Documents file (ELD) Select ELD's to export Export/Save to Folder of your choosing. Reverse to import: File Menu - Import Easylanguage File - Select file ...
256GB SSDs are cheap... this should be simple... if using a laptop... get a 128GB mPCI SSD and a "regular" 2.5" or 1.8" 256GB SSD... setup the mPCI as your OS/app.... and then basically configure your 256GB as your D: for D:\User where all the temp data and your data will go... if a desktop use get two 128GB SSD for OS and 256GB SSD for Data.. D:\USers is the 256GB... the only reason for having two drives is when you have to go and rebuild your laptop or desktop, you dont want to risk your data... and you can also keep an online backup of the OS on your data drive... SSD's are now cheap enough that it doesnt matter... not only that.. time is money, so if you crash and it takes you 15 minutes to come back online, that might be lost opportunity.. of course, that is valid if you day trade... the other day I was rebuilding a computer for my father and I wanted to shoot myself in the head when I realized how long it takes with normal 7200RPM drives... all my laptops and workstations have SSD drives... if you are successful in your trading, dont skimp on tech... that is not to say that you should be stupid and spend $5K on a FusionIO card when you dont need that kind of performance... use common sense and keep it simple.
