Squawk box trading ES, useful?

I was curious if anyone here finds any use in a squawk box trading ES?

 

ES is traded electronically. The large version (pit) depends on the electronic version

 

Hm, thanks TZ! Standards follow minis? Learn something new everyday. I'm trying to reason why that is, but don't follow.

 

10 Years ago the sp squawk was useful but now the majority of dollar volume is in the es.

When I was a trader at WTS though (2 months ago), they told us we would find a squawk box useful in trading stocks correlated with the S&P. Wondering why they wouldn't have us look at ES if it leads the pit.
