  6. Hard to believe a year has passed. What a truly remarkable journey it has been. One year ago, I can honestly say I failed to anticipate the high level of interest generated by the Journal (over a million page views). However, interest alone does not quality make. All those choosing to undertake this journey – knowing the significant effort required to do so – deserve the credit for their success and the success of this discussion. I very much appreciate the time, energy and contributions made by everyone involved. In addition, the tireless efforts of the Moderation Staff (notably – Baron, Joe and Magna) often go unrewarded. I appreciate their efforts over the last year keeping the discussion on topic and relatively flame free. Lastly, the professional courtesy afforded within the confines of this discussion stands out as a model for success. I appreciate everyone maintaining such high levels of professionalism throughout the year.

While many still endeavor to ‘see’ the light at the end of the tunnel, without a doubt, everyone has witnessed a change – both in themselves, and, in the other thread participants. Can anyone honestly look at any chart the same way again? :D This simple change in mindset represents the fundamental alteration required to move forward with this process. For some, the mind has yet to ‘shift’ to the new way of viewing the market. For others, this shift occurred long ago. Wherever one sits along the learning path, they should draw confidence from the fact others have traveled the very same road on their way to success. In other words, nobody need feel left out, left behind or left needing more.

While a tendency often exists to seek out that one next tool, one perfect indicator, and one all knowing guru which can provide that final clue towards profitability, such a journey wastes time and provides nothing more than improper focus. All everyone has ever needed exists prior to the creation of this Journal. As long as an individual has ingrained within themselves the fundamentals required to trade the system, then all that remains is for the trader to focus on themselves as they battle their internal demons – fear and greed. You are all much closer to the end of the journey than the beginning – much closer than any of you realize. As everyone should have learned by now, The Journey really is more important than the destination.

Clearly, much work needs accomplished before everyone reaches their own personal trading goals. In addition, the collaborative iterative refinement process provides benefits to all participants as they follow the Medical School Paradigm of “See One. Do One. Teach One.” To that end, I have opened “The Iterative Refinement Journal” in an effort to provide an environment conducive to the learning process. While I still plan on taking a much needed (and long overdue) respite from posting, I do plan on contributing to the process from time to time.

Again, thank you all for your contributions, focus and eagerness to participate. I wish everyone tremendous success in the not too distant future, and look forward to the opportunity to meet each of you (one day) to shake your hand for a job well done.

Good Trading to one and all.

At Spydertrader's request, this amazing journal (along with the Equities journal) is closed. He has unified things into the Iterative Refinement thread.
