I have marked your chart with point 3. Do you see it now? I hope that helps, if anyone else wants to chip in please do so.
I also spent some time trading ER2 as well, which is my favorite contract. IMO, the enhanced resolution of ER2 translates into finer entry and exit points. Easier to trade than ES (just IMO). RT
Well, I did not plan to sim trade today, but since I did and saw that NT would show the entry/exit on the chart, I thought I would post. Created these notes for my records -- I need a drill to not be late! and to not panic exit! <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1721841> BTW, as you can tell, I am not using NT for charting MA, I use their DOM for SIM trading to work on my reactions. I just added the important items for the snapshot... Full detail is in my previously posted ES chart.
Hi, Just a note about the "down channel that never happened". Just wanted to mention that YM showed a clear FTT where ES touched LTL. So in fact we were looking for pt3 up and not pt3 down. regards, Ivo
If interested, could somebody take a look at my latest analysis and let me know where or why I'm wrong or misguided.. Thanks.
Yes, I saw that and am glad you brought that up because this is why I'm confused. I was under the assumption that our new B2B basically cancels out the previous R2R. In other words, yes a R2R tells us we have change (down) BUT our new B2B tells me to forget about the previous R2R because we have change again (up). So why would we be 'anticipating' a pt3 down channel? From 14:35 to close we had gaus changes 4X btw.
I'm following this journey almost ad litteram. For me a bad day is when I didn't follow my rules. Mistakes? They happen. As long as you know why, and you have a plan to avoid them, it's ok. If you trust this methodology, and you understand that your setbacks are due to your current lack of skill, and you know how to improve it and you're committed to do so, and you don't risk more than you can afford to lose, you're on the right track to success. I don't want to discourage anybody, but I'm sure there'll be people who won't get it. The most likely reasons'll be thier mental blocks. But even them, if they just accept to be disciplined and have reasonable expectations, they'll be able to make a good living of it. A suggestion: try to understand what each rule means, and why it is so.
