  4. The attached chart is my definition of a clear-cut opportunity. This has been my only trade of the day.

  5. Nice trade WG. Did you trigger the trade passing through the previous bars close or was that just coincidence? What where your main clues that this might be a point 1?

    Cheers.

  6. Not exactly. I based my getting into the trade on the fact that we already had a couple of retraces (see the laterals) and were working on the second VE AND the price was well below the 20 SMA (see the earlier posts about 20 SMA's). I was watching the tick chart and there seemed to be a "dwell" period where that seemed to be about the bottom. That is when I decided to go long. Once I was in the trade, I pretended that I got in at the very bottom. If price took out the bottom, I would have exited and waited some more, but probably not for very long, because unless there are very clear signals that price is going to go down some more, price will not get too far away from the 20 SMA. It seldom does.

  7. In the spirit of self-criticism espoused by Chairman Mao (the scum-sucking, $%^&***^$#@$*) and having reflected further on the questions posed last PM, I currently believe that nkhoi's point about the V being sucky and that's what should drive the characterization of that set of bars, is the most correct. The "hybrid" thing while cute, is not really worth considering further.

After all, unless one gets into "relative" HVS (and I don't think one wants to) then with the absolute V being (per Point 1's calculations for the Nikkei Index) in DU, the volatility (H-L) is not high, as PV would dictate. End of this story - but see the attachment for more HVS antics. In the attachment is a picture of my daughter's cat and a "Jack Joke". Jack is a funny guy. Jack and MAK are smart guys. It is my sincere hope that some of you learned something from my ill-conceived question. I laugh at myself (ho, ho, ho - Hunter S. Thompson) because it's the right thing to do.

Was there news at 2pm today?

When volume dried up right before 2pm, I checked economic calenders just to be sure but nothing mentioned .
