Yes, this happens to me many times during the day. I could hear the train in the distance. The train came. The train stopped (for eternity). The conductor stared at me, I stared back. He blew the whistle. The engine churned; it took ages for the train to get moving again. The train left. And I was still standing there looking for the train.
The great news is that once they've told you, you've replayed it knowing what to look for, you've seen it, then you can't not to see it anymore even if you wanted ...
