At my level for now is real easy to monitor I am currently using 5 min ES chart and 2 min Ym chart... I am logging every bar and i have time to draw by hand chart of ES next to My log .... It was difficult at the beginnig but from day to day my speed improves...
10-23-07 My Channels for today market was acting stubborn in the pm but finally broke out of a huge channel
That was a situation in which "not waiting for pt3" would've been a better entry, because of the steepness of the green channel. On the other hand, you correctly identified the pt3. It was just a very short traverse (same bar) that ended in FTT. It happens. As long as you new this could happen, and you were ready to react accordingly, it should've been just "business as usual": wash, or wash and reverse (probable cost about 1.5 points). Occasionally we get in trouble because things don't develop as we expected, and we keep waiting and hoping for the situation to turn around, to confirm our prediction. When hope comes in view it is a sign that you're on the wrong side of the market. I don't know if this was your case ... Anyway we win some, we lose some. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1651724>
Thanks, my str/squ doesn't look anything like your's. Using QT today, I plotted Value = @YM# - INDU.X - 45, but it just comes out looking like a 1 min chart of YM centered on zero. Back to the drawing board.
