  1. Ivo,

Are you sure? If you zoom out and construct a Forest channel, the 12:00 bar looks like a candidate FTT in the NOW, right? Also, take a look at the 15 min chart I posted earlier.

    <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1605495>

The tricky part for me was, as I was annotating I saw the traverse level R2R (12:45-ish) but it turned out the Forest pace had only slowed down, confirmed by the short traverse FTT and Forest FT3 (13:05) and BO (13:40).

Even with the 15 min chart, I can't quite convince myself that I could Forest hold (Long) thru the 12:45+ bars.

    FWIW,

  2. ES chart 5 minute.

I tried to keep all the tapes, but it was too much as the day went on . They needed to be cleaned up as the day passed.
Annotated what I thought were pennants.
    Have a good weekend

    Hi Spooz,

Well, you are right but I look first for the FTT in the current channel and then at the big picture.

I mean, considering only your green channel if the 12:00 bar is a candidate FTT then the 11:55 would be a candidate FTT as well or not? And some more.

First I zoom in, then if we have the FTT in the current channel I zoom out and look at the big channel if we also have the FTT there. Within that current channel we can even look at the tapes for better timing.

When both FTT on both channels fall together that's the moment when both the big elevator as well as the small elevator inside of it go down at the same time. That's at least how I see it. Just like annotated in the channel before it.

In any case I should be aware of that green channel and I did not annotate it which I should have done.

    Thanks for your input.

    regards,
    Ivo

on a finer level, I have added a red line. That should be your LTL. Your LTL is a VE.
After the VE, the bar closed mid-range. This is a caution signal.
Next you have an inside bar, in which you alway have to watch out for break aways.

Hmmmm, I don't follow. Didn't think VE = LTL bounce. But I can wait til Oct for the explanation.

  8. Did not the VE transition to the new LTL?

  9. I would like to share a first time video ( sim )trade, I did on the ES for Sept 14/07.
The video can be downloaded at the link provided, and I hope it works. Never did this before. If there is a problem , I will try to correct it.

The time is of 1:46pm to around 2:05pm. This is a sim trade !
When the video starts I am already long at 1495.25.That can be seen on th DOM. You can see the p/l also live on the DOM.

I had fanned out my forest channel for a new point 3.
I was looking to go long point 3 ( new fanned out).

You will notice I have attached a chart to show the bigger picture of where I entered ( fanned out forest point 3)and exited at the ftt. The chart should clear up as to why I traded this. It is just how I had seen it at the time.

We each see things a little different, but this method provides the knowledge to wind up the same, in the end.

As the video continues , I am holding through the entire time, until I feel a true FTT of my forest has been confirmed.

I know we are to reverse at FTT'S, but please understand I don't feel I am ready to reverse as of yet.
I will continue to work hard at this, until the day comes when I can flow smooth, from one channel to the next.
As for now, to get down the pieces I do understand, is strengthening what I am learning.

You will notice some sloppy annotating yet, I am working on that.
( Eyeing up gaussians, annotate them at end of day.
The trade I am in I did not tape, the one channel on ES.)
Also the str/sqz floated, and I did not zero it out.
So, I am putting this together, but I need work on cleaning up.

This setup on my screen, is how I have it for a quick veiw of all the data. I do have other screens with the charts expanded.
As far as this trade went, entered long 1495.25 and exited at 1499.25 for a total of 4 es points on 1 contract.

I hope that this does not jump ahead on the syllabus, we have videos coming this fall.
We have all come a very long way here, and this is to show what we can do , with what has been taught.

I don't mind in helping with more videos in the future , but I will keep them in pointing out continuation and change , without any trades involved.

I hope you enjoy this video for what it is . . .
    A learning process.
    Have a great weekend!

At the moment of LTL bounce YM formed a double top FTT on my chart. I guess that was a clue as well. Anyway, there are so many clues all the time for continuation as well as change.

So the flaw I thought I was seeing was actually a flaw in the new dominant direction as after the bounce this was a left to right traverse?

    regards,
    Ivo
