Could someone please post a quotetracker tick chart as described above and, if possible, the chart template. Thanks.
Heres mine. All you have to do is select range ohlc chart and set the range to .25. edit: I have unchanged set to gray and it is easy to see on my chart but not so evident in the posted snap.
I have posted EasyLanguage code for volume with neutral color. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1554455#post1554455
I think different software vendors have "1 tick range charts" coded differently and I want to clarify which type Spyder has in mind. Do we want a new bar started on the next tick after a pair (and the previous bar) is created, even though that tick is within the first pair? In other words if price cycles between one pair do we want a bar for each cycle? The sketch he posted recently showed what appears to be this approach. This is what my software (AmiBroker) is doing. The other type of chart has each bar contain the activity until price leaves the original pair. All cycling remains in the existing bar until price leaves the pair, an approach similar to a point and figure chart. Bearbelly's QT chart shows this approach, at least the way he has it set up. I'm sure there can be lots of discussion about various software, etc. and we should probably take it to the other ET thread started for this purpose. I just wanted to get the intent clarified right of the bat.
I'll post a screenshot of the Quotetracker version later today (this evening) in an effort to clear up any confusion. - Spydertrader
For some reaon I am not getting volume displayed. any ideas? If I scroll back, the vol is there earlier..
Here is the first of six example YM and ES tick charts. Each one shows a 'different' formation. These are from the January meeting Jack had recorded. Many thanks to the person who did these examples. -Mike
