Hey Spydertrader, Do you accomplish this by using QFAI? If so, how do you open Qcharts integrated w/ MB Trading through QFAI? Are these the only two servers you use? Thanks, -A
Yes. I only use these servers. CTRL + ALT + N gives you the server lists. Double click on one of the above to reconnect to a superior datafeed. - Spydertrader
Spyder, Thanks for your words of encouragement. I've actually been thinking about adding short trades, so your advice confirmed what I had already been thinking. Although, I feel that initially I should stick to longs for the first couple of months when I start trading with real money. BTW- I've read through all three journals (twice) , and I'm starting to go through the futures journal. I'm planning to do everything by the book - no skipping ahead to stuff that I'm not ready for, and if I'm successful I will have owed you a great deal of thanks. I am thoroughly impressed by your professionalism and willingness to teach others what you've learned. Angie
I have attached an excel spreadsheet that I've found helpful in my daily trading. It's nothing groundbreaking - I have no coding ability - but I find myself referring to it throughout the day. It includes the functions of the risk calculator Spyder provided in journal 1. Just fill in the equity and Risk % columns w/ your desired amounts and save it, then whenever you get ready to buy a stock, all you need to do is fill in your anticipated entry price and it will calculate # of shares to buy and your stop price. It also includes the Unusual Volume Table and a Pro-Rata Volume table that allows you to enter the volume amount for the previous day of any stock you own. I find it helpful to refer to this throughout the day to get a better feel for if volume rate is increasing or decreasing from the previous day. Hope some of you will find it helpful. -A
I learned my lesson back on 27 February 2007. I know Spyder has stated that he never considers NOT trading stocks on the day's watchlist EVEN when the market is tanking, and I understand the point. On that day, you knew by 0730 CST that something very significant was about to happen. I've decided to step aside on days like 27 Feb 2007, 16 Aug 2007, etc, and it hasn't hurt my performance. I try to stack the odds in my favor by going long when the overall market trend or sector trend is also long. Just look at the shippers since Jan 2007.
   I was giving NFI a serious look this am, when it was around 1.50-.55ish. 40% later, I can only dream.....
Can someone tell me what drawing tool allows you to use these red circles and arrows to identify things on your charts? Thanks, -A

How do I post a chart so that it shows within the text of the post, instead of just as an attachment you click on? I seem to remember directions being posted on this in the earlier journals, but I failed to bookmark it and have been unable to locate it through search. Thanks, -A
