  1. Side note observation on MALL.

I keep track of weekly, monthly and quarterly pivots and high/lows simply to get a feel for where price is today.

While some might say MALL was too far extended, if you look at the last 5 days as short term consolidation, MALL broke its weekly high yesterday (Thursday). Buying between 16.11 and 16.60 somewhere in the 1029 hour bar today (Friday) would have been my entry.

I was too busy kicking myself for exiting RIMM at around 100 a few days back. At least my BIDU (what I went in after exiting RIMM) is doing well.

  2. Side note observation on China:

I've been doing remarkably well with China stocks since the mid September Fed meeting: BIDU, JRJC, CHNR.

We have a couple in the universe. My favorite so far is GSOL. If it ever catches attention and starts to go up 5% - 20% a day for 5 - 7 days in a row like JRJC et al, we'll be good to go!

  4. Spyder, may I ask how you generated these additions? I don't see any of them on my most recent stocktables list. If this is simply an issue with caused by using different data providers then that's OK of course. Apologies if you have covered this already, I am still trudging through my printouts of Journal I, highlighter in hand.

  5. I scanned the entire list of stocks traded on the U.S. Exchanges (AMEX, NASDAQ & NYSE) in an effort to locate symbols which held rank. Of all these companies (some 8 or 10 thousand), I then cull for the basic fundamental parameters (price, volume, positive EPS, etc). Once culled, I then search for ranked stocks. Out of all these companies, I only located five - not already a part of the Final Universe. If I recall correctly, I outlined this entire process somewhere in Journal II.

    Good trading to you.

  7. Monkman

The dry up scan spit out DWSN, CF, JSDA, ICOC, and PCR in addition to what you have. Am I doing something wrong?

  8. 1. I eyeballed the stocks. A scan might yield different results.

    2. I don't have DWSN, CF or PCR in my Final Universe.

  10. Spyder, do you find that anticipating trades makes sense? I got into FMCN at 9:38 (59.08) on the very rapid rise in volume, but by early afternoon it began to look unlikely (to my eyes) that FRV would be hit without a surge in volume in the final hour. Accordingly I got out at 2:54 for 59.94. In fact we did get a surge in volume in the last 30 minutes and we did pretty much hit FRV. Should I just have grit my teeth and sat on my inexperienced hands or am I right to be trying to anticipate?

    Thanks
