I've read in Journal One and Two that some have employed an EOD method. I know that SpyderTrader started this way to accumulate funds for a larger portfolio. This question goes go anyone that has tried this method. If I were to use the FRV signal at the end of the day would I be able to look at the MACD and the Stochastics and if they both redered a positive signal at the end of the day then enter a trade for the next day? Or must the MACD and Stochastics only be used for the Intraday method once a signal is generated before 11:30 am?
If I thought there was a short entry, I would've probably bought October 85 puts, or sold October 80 calls.
When one trades EOD, one uses EOD MACD and EOD Stochastics levels to aid in the decision-making process. Think 'Bruno R' set up, and think in terms of Indicator Sequences which must unfold in order to hold, enter or exit. - Spydertrader
charly I think he is referring to a post made in Journal 2 about the Bruno R set up. I believe there is an attachment or link referring to it. Its not part of the Journal 1 methodology. I was not going to employ the Bruno R attempting to stick to the more basic methods in Journal 1 but I am now reconsidering it considering what Spyder has stated. try this link though I'm sure there was a more elaborate one elsewhere. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1005707&highlight=bruno+r#post1005707 I have a word file regarding the bruno R setup if you are interested inbox me your email.
Since I learned so much on the last trade I posted, I thought I'd try another. I picked up DRYS calls yesterday, choosing OCT 70 calls. I waited for the P3 to be confirmed this time, and hopefully it will make it to the LTL, at which point I'll exit. This is a snapshot right before I entered, before the fed announcement. IV is at %68, a slight increase over last week, but down about %12 from a month ago. Theta shouldn't be a problem with this timeline and delta is at .92, so I'm hoping to get some bang for my buck out of this one. If the price hits the LTL (around 84 on my chart) the calls will be worth around $15 each. All comments greatly appreciated! I think your correct first step was choosing the right shipper from our current 3 in the universe to trade. I traded TBSI and made a buck off of it. Both EXM and DRYS blew that performance away since the date I mentioned them. Great decision. I think you'll hit your target. I had VDSI and a few others in play today. For my unrelated trading I took a large position in EWZ (Brazil ETF) that I'll hold through December assuming the Fed action and the market moves yesterday are confirmation that the Aug 16 low is it for now.
I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out how to get the training videos running. I started by downloading the charting basics video, but all I get is the sound (no picture). I'm using Windows Media Player. I also tried using Quicktime and the same thing happened. Also, the IBD meetup videos look like they all down load at the same time which will take around 16 hours. Is there any way to get them to download individually? Any help will be appreciated. Angie
