  1. 2005-03-21, Monday - Update

Our system triggered another signal this morning when actual volume for CUTR exceeded calculated Dry Up Volume on a 50% pro-rata basis. Unfortunately, we did not have price improvement with CUTR at time of signal generation. As a result, I take no action with respect to CUTR either long or short.

  2. First, great job to everyone on this thread. I've been lurking around for a few weeks. My goal is to try to find and automate a few systems that have a high % of success. This system definately interests me as I read the thread and related materials a few times over the weekend. Currently I'm backtesting some other ideas through AmiBroker. When I do trade I trade manually through Interactive Broker. I'm thinking about Tradestation 8 as an alternative to the combo but havn't gotten there/decided yet.

Anyway, I started working on some code for this system in AmiBroker over the weekend (in lieu of the Wealth Script) but w/ my schedule it will probably take a few weeks, especially since i'm only about 3 months into AmiBroker. If anyone has some current code beyond what was posted that would be great. If anyone has interest as I'm working through it - that would be great to know also.

I've enjoyed the tread; so far it seems to be one of the best collaborative threads on the board. I hope to contribute to it moving forward.

  3. Spydertrader, thanks for sharing your trading knowledge. I am starting to learn Jack Hershey trading method. About your signal today on CUTR, when I look at your watch list, hot list, and universal final list, I do not see CUTR in one of your lists. Do you have another list that we should know about? Thanks.

  4. Welcome aboard, and I apologize for not having the ability to assist you further with your Amibroker code search. Realizing of course you have spent considerable time, energy and effort learning the Amibroker code, you may wish to take another look at Wealth-Lab Developer. Using the scanning function and Order Manager combined with your broker, may permit you to accomplish what you look for with tradestation at a substantial cost savings. Try the Wealth-Lab Discussion boards as well. You might find a few folks who could assist you in translating code you have already written. Whichever route you decide best suites your needs, we look forward to your future contributions.

  5. We added CUTR to the Final Universe via the Tuesday, March 14, 2005 Hotlist. Last night, I had CUTR on the Watch List for today (Monday, March 21, 2005). Check the date to make sure you viewed the correct day's list. You may have looked at the previous Friday's List inadvertently.

    Hope that helps.

  6. Hypo, How, by what terms, do you find the top 10 NAZ?

  7. Didn't he retire that alias? Besides, he did post that statement nearly six months ago. A PM of that question might receive a quicker response.

  8. Thanks Spyder. How long you have been using and trading this journal's method? Do you have any statistics so far for us to learn?

  9. About 3 years ago, I stumbled onto the writings of Jack Hershey while surfing through the Usenet archives. I began reading everything I could find even remotely associated with Jack Hershey - including the flames (and there were many). During the summer of 2003, I began trading these methods full-time. While profitable, I realized my initial trading capital was too small to maintain my lifestyle and permit me to take full advantage of compounding. As a result, I returned to work on a one year contract for the sole purpose of increasing my trading capital. While working, I traded these methods part time. Between saving the vast majority of each paycheck and gains realized using Jack's Methods, I felt my account had more than enough capital to provide me an appropriate income. After my one year contract ended, I began trading these same methods once again on a full-time basis. However, for the purposes of this journal, I have only used half of my account.

Throughout the Journal, I have posted the results for each trade, and on occasion (about once a month), I have posted all trades entered over the last six months. Attached, please all results to date.

  10. Thanks Spider. Sorry for I haven't got the right software to read .xls file for the moment.

Anyway, do you have any very simple summaries (even just one figure say return on equity each year) for:
    - Apr02-Mar03 (say 100% return, probably simulation),
    - Apr03-Mar04 (say 150% return, actual), and
    - Apr04-Mar05 (say 200% return, actual)?

    How about drawdowns?

Would you mind to post them in screenshot or text or .pdf format (which might be readable to all readers, I guess). Appreciate your feedback. :)
