Our system triggered no signals today. Not one of our watch list stocks showed volume that exceeded dry up volume. I have attached the SINA chart that I failed to attach for the previous post. - Spydertrader

Our system triggered two signals this morning. The first signal (NTES) resulted after actual volume for NTES exceeded 25% pro-rata volume just after the open. MACD (.0232) and The Stochastic Indicator (79.8859) held within our desired parameters. Price showed improvement over the previous trading day, and price was $53.76 at time of signal. As a result we purchase 400 shares of NTES and receive a fill price of $53.89. 12/01/04 09:33:52 53.89 53.89 53.89 400 Volume for NTES continued to exceed each level of pro-rata volume throughout the morning. Attached, please find an EOD Chart for NTES. Our second signal, TRMM occurred after the 11:30 AM time frame. Although price, volume, MACD and The Stochastic Indicator fall within our desired parameters, we do not take the trade at this time due to signal trigger AFTER 11:30 AM. As a result, we continue to monitor TRMM looking for FRV to occur by EOD. - Spydertrader
Outstanding as usual. It seems that number of signals has been reduced during the last two months or so, no? Take care.
While their may not be as many BO out of VVDU, their are plenty of stocks that are making their natural cycle. All the stocks in your universe should make nice 6-8 day half cycles. If you are having a hard time "seeing" the cycles, look at the MACD histogram on the daily fractal.
Here are a few stocks with up cycles in the past week; CMTL, GDP, NPO, EXM, DRIV, SYNA, CCRT, MSA, SWIR. My hope is that you can see the natural cycles the stocks go through.
I did an analysis of very fast run ups over the last year in a watchlist of 45 CANSLIM stocks. The run-up averaged 7 days with a range from 4 to 16 days, before having a down day. How did I measure 'fast run-ups'? Where the stock absolutely exploded - and went at least 20% with no down days - visually based.
Arent you buying too late Spyder re: waiting for the stochastic to get high? I use a 7, 3 fast stoch and buy only if below 50 (and price moving up, volume triggers also). I have enough stocks in my watchlist (55) so that I dont need to buy things that have already broken out of their base (higher risk).
Yes, during the last two months the number of signals has reduced over what I experienced just before I started this Journal Thread. In addition, the strength of each signal has also experienced a reduction (fewer 10% gains). I attribute the change in frequency and strength from a reduction in the number of total stocks available during the initial 'culling' process and by my use of a formula for DU Volume vs 'eyeballing' the DU Volume values. With an EPS and RS setting of 90 and 80, we currently receive an initial sort containing 70-80 stocks. We would prefer to have around 100 stocks in our initial sort from the http://www.stocktables.com web site. Altering the EPS and RS settings creates a sort with too many stocks (160 with both settings at 80) or too few stocks (50 stocks with both settings at 90) than we need. As the number of companies in the initial sort increase, I feel we will see the number of signals increase in both frequency and strength as well. - Spydertrader
I noticed many of the above stocks appearing on my universe lists of a year ago. Since that time, they have fallen out of my universe due to the number of cycles in the past six months. A few of the above have even made it onto the lists of Zeros, Ones and Sevens over the last few weeks, but have yet to achieve a high enough rank to make it back into my final universe list. As a result, I have been unable to consider them for trading. The stocks you listed are excellent examples in terms of 'natural cycles.' I look forward to the day they return to the final universe list. - Spydertrader
