  3. My apologies, I should have proofread and been more clear to state that the taped out region is on the MACD Hist as DKM has clarified.

  4. Our system failed to generate any signals today - long or short. As a result, we take no action towards the purchase of new stocks. With regards to CALM & SWIR (two stocks we have held since last week), we have the opportunity to sell both with a slight gain.

    CALM

    11/26/04 11:52:42 13.53 13.48 13.56 900

The sale of CALM created more of a wash trade with an increase in price of only .10 per share. This resulted in a gross profit of ninety dollars. Since the majority of the time this week, the price of CALM tracked below our buy price, I anticipated the end result of this trade to be a loss. Fortunately, price moved in our favor today providing a small gain.

    SWIR

    11/26/04 12:02:52 19.69 19.69 19.69 600

While the sale of SWIR resulted in a slightly higher gain of 4% over our buy price, we failed to reach our target price of 10%.

Overall, our system continues to track below the levels I experienced during the summer months of this year. Interestingly, although the number of 10% gains has decreased, the overall number of profitable trades has increased. In addition, the number of losing trades as decreased compared to the long term performance measures.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Thanks for the great work, Spydrtrader.

I did not expect any signals today as most markets are very quiet during this holiday weekend.

    Take care.

  6. I agree with your observations. While I didn't anticipate the system generating new signals, due to historically low volume on this day, I did anticipate the distinct likelihood of seeing price improvement on both CALM & SWIR. With the veterans away on Holiday, the youngsters run the trading desks often resulting in exaggerated moves. Although we often speak of 'following our system parameters' when adhering to the trading rules of the Jack Hershey Equities Method, we need to remain mindful of the overall macroeconomic considerations that affect price. Greenspan pronouncements, Holiday Trading Trends, and geopolitical events often affect the market. Knowing which and how great an influence each condition effects The Hershey Stock Universe can often make the difference between profit and loss. A slight altering of our trading rules permitted us to take advantage of one of these conditions. On another day, a slight alteration might prevent a loss. Over time, we learn when best to make these slight alterations, and with time, comes experience. Experience really is the best teacher in this game.

Again, thanks to everyone for their contributions and input.

The resulting large watch list for Monday stems from the overall low volume experienced during the shortened trading day on Friday, Novemeber, 26, 2004, rather than, the normal Dry Up Volume Definitions observed when buyers and sellers have reached the lowest agreement price. One should exercise caution before trading any signals derived from such low "Holiday" volume. Had the normal trading hours been in place on Friday, many of the Watch List stocks above would have experienced volume greater than Dry Up Volume, and therefore would have failed to make Monday's Watch List. As a result, I plan to take tomorrow's (Monday) trading session off and not trade any resulting signals.

  8. I have a question for Gallas2 and NWBprop. I like the style you two trade. May I ask how you screen for stocks? Gallas I looked at your excel file but it didn't give me a clue as to how you screen. (I am slow)

BTW If any of you remember me from last year, I am back! Been playing poker the whole time doing very well. Have put away about 5k that I think I would like to trade with. No more daytrading for me! I've learned a lot playing poker that I think will serve me very well in trading. IE MONEY MANAGEMENT!!!
