Makosgu Once again, thank you immensely for the reply. You are absolutely right on all counts. Take care
Hello Spydrtrader This must be a data source issue again but I don't show volume for IDSA exceding DU. See attached chart. PETD, as you mentioned, looks to be a better short candidate than a long. Volume exceeded DU late in the day. Is that valid for our purposes? Please see the 30 min chart of PETD attached to my next post. Thanks very much, again. Take care
I was wrong. It looks like PETD exceeded DU before 11 but with a long red bar. PETD 30min chart attached.
Most likely we have another data source issue. In order for you to compare, I have provided the numbers from my data source below. Using the Wealth lab Chart Script located here: http://www.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/editsystem?id=32994 We get a Dry Up Volume of 24,999. One of the other methods of Dry Up provided a Dry Up Volume Calculation of 36,125. According to the data source I use (Scottrade Free Real Time Data), actual volume for IDSA exceeded calculated Dry Up Volume for BOTH levels of Dry Up prior to 11:00 AM. The ending volume for IDSA(4:00 PM) peaked at 64,375. 11/05/04 15:59:35 10.41 10.37 10.58 64379 An additional 28,292 shares were traded at 22:00 hours bringing the daily total to 92,671. I hope that helps. - Spydertrader
According to my data, Dry Up occurred during the third bar as marked on the attached chart. As we anticipated, we would have profited some on this trade, had we chosen to trade the signal this morning. It remains to be seen if we would have achieved our target 10% in 4 days. Using the MACD crossover exit, we could have expected an exit price of $33.25. Out of curiosity, how do you export those charts you posted above out of Wealth Lab Developer? Thanks for the input. - Spydertrader
Yes, it did help. Thanks for your continued contributions. I have altered the Chart Scripts accordingly as you recommend in your post. - Spydertrader
You guys are most welcomed. After staring at svrz translations of the eqns and MACD concepts, it became crystal clear why the equations work. I hope to prove both graphically and mathematically what I am percieving/interpreting and share a host of insight with the group. Hopefully, this will help significantly and only furthur improve on this superb effort being made by the collective. REGARDS, G33M4K
