Hi Spydertrader, I had to step away from my computer this morning and when I returned the signal for ENER had come. I got filled at 10:38 @$26.41 Definitely late but I am willing to give up some profit to while learning this system. Then like smashandgrab says, it rolled a bit, but I stayed in because of the "Price/volume relationship" I figured if the volume is up then the price will continue its trend over time, I still hold 250 shares. The overall trend for ENER is up and so was volume this morning and so I did not feel uneasy at all during the pull back. As a side bar, I had a strong urge to buy more but I didn't. Is this a proper understanding of this principle? Do you have any opinion about what I said? Gooch87
Yes, you correctly articulated the principles on which the trading system rests. Excellent work. More importantly, you showed great discipline in sticking to your trading rules even as the trade moved against you. Keep up the great work. - Spydertrader
Today, many of you shared your observations, opinions and results. I thank each of you for doing so. I appreciate the hard work and effort made by those that continue to share their contributions with this Journal. It takes a certain amount of courage to post in such a public fashion both the successes enjoyed and obstacles overcome during the learning process. Again, I appreciate the contributions made by everyone and continue to encourage increased participation. Keep up the excellent work. - Spydertrader
"acesheet 08-02-05 02:06 PM I've been papertrading this system for a little while. I had JUPM on my Watchlist yesterday, was up by EOD and FRV was reached according to my calculations. What I failed to notice and is probably a great to be aware of for this system is that JUPM was to announce earnings after hours. Reno, where do you get your earnings info (specifically for NGPS)? I can't find it on earnings.com or NGPS's website. Thanks, smtrader
2005-08-03, Wednesday - Update This morning, I monitored one list of stocks (2 total equities): Those equities from our daily Hot List and from our Final Universe List finding themselves "In Dry Up." Dry Up Stocks JMDT NGPS Our system generated one possible trade signal from the list of two Dry Up Stocks when actual volume exceeded calculated "Low Band" Dry Up Volume prior to 11:30 AM. Dry Up Stocks Triggering Signal JMDT Dry Up Stocks NOT Triggering Signal NGPS JMDT did show price improvement ($29.23) at time of signal generation (10:32 AM). In addition, MACD Histogram showed a positive return (+.1340). Also, The Stochastic Indicator fell above desired levels (82.83). As a result, I entered into a long position receiving a fill price of $29.32 USD on 1000 shares of JMDT. I also continue to hold 1000 shares of ENER from $25.90 USD. - Spydertrader
Hi Ace, Good Job ! SpyderTrader has achieved success here... Are you keeping RR @ 2:1 and also switching to fixed positioning as EQ increases...? I am setting up a model for the basic system... No variants... I've had this one bookmarked for a year now... In the early stages Jack, Max, and Vorso started on a good note; however, SpyderTrader has taken this a step further... Organization, Discipline, Position Sizing, and Money Management all the essentials...! Also, add this link to the tool box if you don't already use it... http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ce?s=JUPM JMWilk PS: Good Luck and Good Trading !
Acesheet, I am having a problem programming the dryup volume in Amibroker. Tried several different ways using valuewhen but don't quite have it. Could you post your code? tia, nt
2005-08-03, Wednesday - Update We experienced an interesting day today watching price action for JMDT. Actual volume appeared to be way below FRV Levels just prior to the closing bell. As a result, I sold all shares of JMDT at close receiving a fill price of $29.15 on 1000 shares. This Intraday trade yielded a loss of -$170 USD. However, it now appears as though significant activity occurred just after the closing bell bringing the day's volume total above FRV Levels for the day. An odd occurrence to be sure. I still hold 1000 shares of ENER. - Spydertrader
