2005-07-22, Friday - MCRI Update Once again, the use of a stop prevented a major loss. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=797687>
2005-07-22, Friday - Update This morning, I monitored one list of stocks (6 total equities): Those equities from our daily Hot List and from our Final Universe List finding themselves "In Dry Up." Dry Up Stocks DCAI IIG SNHY TASR TRGL UBET Our system generated two possible trade signals from the list of six Dry Up Stocks when actual volume exceeded calculated "Low Band" Dry Up Volume prior to 11:30 AM. Dry Up Stocks Triggering Signal SNHY DCAI Dry Up Stocks NOT Triggering Signal IIG TASR TRGL UBET SNHY did NOT show price improvement ($28.70) at time of signal generation (10:46 AM). In addition, MACD Histogram showed a negative return (-.4131). Also, The Stochastic Indicator fell below desired levels (2.06). As a result, I took no action with respect to entering into a long position with SNHY. DCAI DID show price improvement ($25.95) at time of signal generation (11:01 AM). However, MACD Histogram showed a negative return (-.0079). In addition, The Stochastic Indicator fell below desired levels (39.05). As a result, I took no action with respect to trading DCAI. Price for MCRI continued to fall this morning triggering my trailing stop at the $25.08 USD price point. This three day trade yielded a per share loss of .30 or -$300 USD on 1000 shares. I continue to hold 1000 shares of NGPS from $32.50 USD. - Spydertrader
Yes. However, EZPW currently finds itself without a rank. Unless EZPW reacquires a rank before the end of the month, I plan to delete it from the Final Universe List. - Spydertrader

Spyder I was going to pm you but I thought I would ask the question in the forum so that everyone can learn from it. Q: If I just want to take the final list that you post here everyday what else do I need to do to monitor the trades. Can you please be specific as to HOW and WHAT I will need to do. Thank You!
Samson77 Try this: Presuming you do not have wealthlab developer on your pc go to http://www.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/home. If you do not have a free account with the wealthlab website sign up. Once signed up go to chartscripts. On the right is a box containing Most Popular Chartscripts. Click on Hershey Equities Dry Up Volume Scan v. 1.0.0 and bookmark it. Go back to the page of Most Popular Chartscripts and do the same for Hershey Equities Rank v. 2.0.4. Next highlight and copy Spydertrader's Final Universe list. Go back to the wealthlab site and click on "My Watchlists" then "Click here to create new watchlist" Enter a name for the watchlist, "Spydertrader's Final Universe" will do, and then right click and paste the symbols into the next box, add a description if you desire then submit. Go back to "My Watchlists" and the new watchlist you just created should be listed there. Next click on link "Watchlist Scans" which is just 3 lines above where your watchlist is displayed. Highlight Spydertrader's Final Universe in the left drop down box and highlight Hershey Equities Dry Up Volume Scan v. 1.0.0 in the right drop down box. Then click "Begin Scan" The scan will generate a list of all watchlist stocks that meet the criteria for being in volume Dry Up for that day. Copy this list and run each symbol manually through Hershey Equities Rank v. 2.0.4 which you bookmarked earlier. This will generate the figures you need to know for low band dry up volume, average dry up volume, and high band dry up volume, first rising volume (FRV), and peak volume. It will also show the symbols rank and score in the top left of the chart. Using Medved Quotetracker or similar create a watchlist or portfolio of the stocks in Dry Up for that day and set alerts for low band volume for each symbol. If an alert triggers check the 30 minute chart of the symbol to verify that the technical filters are optimal (Stochastic %K > 80, MACD positive and price positive on the day). If a position is taken, enter a 2 % stop loss immediately. Exit immediately if price goes negative for the day. A 5% stop loss applies after day 1. Those with more experience with the system than I should feel free to correct or expound.
Excellent work Reno. Thank you for posting a highly detailed synopsis. I'm confident may will find your contributions helpful. Here is my current Final Universe List: BCSI CKCM CMT DCAI ELOS ENER EZPW FORD HANS IIG JMDT JUPM MCRI MFLX NFLX NGPS PARL RADS RNOW RTSX SNHY TASR TRGL UBET USG VDSI - Spydertrader
Thanks guys I think I got it, now I need to figure out the alerts for Medved or see if I can do the same for Ensign. My only question would be how can I keep up to date with the the final universe now. Sorry if I'm trying to simplify this too much but I'm learning it for my Dad so he can monitor this for his account. He has had a tough time trading lately and he needs something non subjective and relatively easy to follow and I think this is perfect for him.
